Area favorite candy shop. Very efficient operation. You probably know most of the selections by heart. But a little time and you might find a some new choices.

So why do we have to drive all the way to Wheaton or Geneva or St. Charles to find home-made ice cream or chocolates? Why aren't there more mom 'n pop ice cream stores in downtown Chicago, closer to our home? Since 1987, Graham's Fine Chocolates & Ice Cream has been a go-to destination for home-made chocolates, candies, ice cream and Italian sodas. Robert and Beckie Untiedt opened their first store in Geneva in 1987, then opened a store at 119 West Front Street in Wheaton, west of Main Street, in downtown Wheaton, in 2000. Open from 10 to 9 Monday through Thursday, 10 to 10 on Friday and Saturday and 10 to 8 on Sunday, the Wheaton location features a delicious menu that includes apples, caramels, English toffee, peanut brittle, almond bark, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, pretzels, nuts and graham crackers. You can purchase any of 31 flavors of ice cream in scoops, pints or quarts. Graham's is a favorite hangout for my brother, who lives in the area. Whenever we visit, we always come home with eight pints of ice cream and bags of English toffee and peanut brittler. Our favorite ice cream flavors? Butter pecan, strawberry, peach, cookie dough, coconut almond, raspberry chocolate chip, lemon ice and coffee toffee. At least those were our favorites on our most recent trip. There's always a flavor or two that we are tempted to try on our next visit. How about blueberry or rocky road or Oreo or chocolate brownie or chocolate peanut butter? You can never get enough chocolate.
