Don't go here, avoid it at all costs. This place is the most unpleasant place I have ever been in, and the customer service is abysmal. The second you walk in you are greeted by Trump decor on the walls (take that as you will), with the place smelling unpleasant. As soon as we got there, this old lady walked out from the back of the place, and started staring at me and my girlfriend without saying anything (no welcome, what can I get you), looking angry and not welcoming. I ordered a sundae, and she glared at me for a solid 5 seconds before she started scooping it, before telling me that she didn't have the ingredients to make a sundae after already scooping all of the ice cream, basically pressuring me into getting it. She also used the same scoop for the recees ice cream and the raspberry ice cream, which is dangerous if you happen to have allergies. The whole experience was filled with so much attitude and rudeness that we will never be going back here again. Looking at the other reviews for this place, it seems like we're not the only ones that had this horrible experience at this place. Save your money for a different place, as this one doesn't deserve it.(Also the ice cream wasn't even that good, it was partially melted when it was served)
This Tasty Treat is legendary in the quaint town of Westmont. People drive over here from.an hour away to enjoy delicious waffle cone and her selection of a great flavors of ice cream ..yummy sorbet and an old favorite a frothy A,& WROOT BEEE floats. The Unique owners are open after midnight make sure way after closing time their last devoted customer is served .. that's a lost treat in today's world .The place is simple and the experience is tasty..
We drove for 30 min to get the ice cream bc the kids love it. We wanted to buy a few pints, but the lady refused to give it to us because she said we will finish all the ice cream she had. She was very rude and treated us very badly.I don’t care how good or cheap the ice cream is. I am never going back. You can keep your ice cream for your other customers.
It's a shame the owner of this place is so nasty. Her attitude is bad, she doesn't ever have a smile and makes the most juvenile rude remarks. I don't know why she owns a store if she just doesn't seem to like people. If it was just judging the ice cream it would be 4 stars. Don't waste your money here you'll have the same experience.
No idea how this establishment has so many 5 star ratings. Service was slow, and they weren’t that busy. They also didn’t have 1/2 of their menu available. The cashier who I presume to be the owner gave us the evil eye and a lecture for using a credit card. I should have just left the purchase on the counter and walked out, but I can assure you I will not be back. Done waste your time with this dump. Hopefully the revitalization of Westmont will yield some better options for ice cream.
Ice cream is good. But being guilt tripped for using a credit card instead of cash isn't that great. Especially when they add that certain nationalities use credit cards even though they are assumed to have cash in their wallets. The fox news loop and Trump glorification pics on the wall should have been a tip off. But at the same time, everybody has a right to their opinion. If you can get past that, the ice cream is still pretty good as are the prices and portions.
I used to love the Ice-cream here, but lately the place is not clean!! It smells like a nursing home!!!There nobody literally cleaned for a long time where they keep the Ice-cream! The old lady is always unhappy without gloves serving the Ice-cream, barley moving she really needs to retire!! They need someone that can do the work otherwise it will be hard to have costumers!!
Ice cream is delicious but customer service is considerably bad. My wife bought different flavors of ice cream in cups and paid for it in cash. The lady told my wife she has no change for some cents, so that was fine. Keep the change as we say. The only issue I had is when my wife asked for an extra plastic spoon. She wldid not give us one because according to her that it was against health department. It should be one spoon per customer. She had a lot to say while my wife is only asking for 1 spoon. That lady could have been.a little bit considerate that we even let her keep the change. So, we would never go back to that store again since they are not the only ice cream store that sells great tasting ice cream. Good luck with your business.
This ice cream shop has the best distributor of ice cream, there name is Homers Ice Cream products, they are all the way in the North Shore. There prices here at the shop in Westmont are very reasonable. Five stars all the way.
Uncomfortable place and they'll take your money. Seriously. There is a tip option in their payment system and the lady hit the button to tip herself without asking us. She did this after telling us that we, a married couple, are not allowed to share a cup of ice cream. She really went on about it and wouldn't let us eat inside and said the health department would come after US, the customers. They were playing political shows in the background.The ice cream was seriously good but we won't be back.
