The staff was so nice and helpful. Watching tortillas being made and then getting to eat them was awesome. The one problem I had was they have so many choices it was so hard to decide what to eat. That being said, everything we ordered was delicious! And the tacos were inexpensive enough that I got to try something I've never had before without worrying about paying for something and then not being able to eat it. By the way you should try the squash blossom tacos. The steak sope it was so, so good. The chicken breast with pineapple was delicious but a little spicy for us. The steak Azteca was amazingly delicious and cooked just right. And the atmosphere in the place is like being at a family member's house eating and enjoying, it was just wonderful. I will be back!!
Had dinner here before we went to the Genesee theatre. The hostess was nice, the server Nora, was so awesome. She had to keep checking to see if we were ready to order, because their menu is extensive and it was or first time there. We had drinks - they were strong (in a good way). The food was delicious, they make their own tortillas on site an you can watch! I had a squash blossom taco and a Steak Sope - they were sooooo good. My honey had the Steak Azteca (I tried it, wow was that good!) And my sister had the chicken breast with pineapple, it was a little spicy for her but I tasted it as well and it was good. I would totally recommend this place and can't wait to go again so I can try more. They have exotic foods as well, but I am not sure I am brave enough to try those. Overall - a fantastic meal and kind, friendly staff. I will be back
The only thing worth coming here for is the homemade tortillas. Service was absolutely horrible. 2 out of our party of 5 got served food & they neglected to put in the other 3 orders. Food was just ok but definitely not worth the price. We weren't apologized to or compensated for the issues we had with the service; and, to make matters worse, 2 of us got sick from the food. Never coming here again.
Food is good but the waitress forgot to bring us the chips and salsa to begin. Other members brought us the food and we didn't see her until the end when we were done. She pick up the plates and that was it. Another waitress had to bring us the check. Waitress could maybe do 1 or 2 check up through the meal
Not your typical Mexican restaurant. Very good selection of food and drinks. Service was great. Handmade corn tortillas. Clean. Exotic dishes. I came for the mole.
I don't even want to give it a one star. This was the worse experience I ever had. I see the pictures here and is a joke to me because we didn't get no where near there. Is over priced. $20+ plates. But not worth that prices. The portions of the food was like a pinch of everything. The waiter didn't care to come and check up on us. I wanted to eat at the same time as my husband, she didn't even bring my food at the same time as him. As like had forgot about us and if you ask for a cup of water forget it even that hurts them.Don't waste your money. This is not worth that price, food is too ordinary.This place in my opinion it shouldn't be that expensive. Is not all that great. It was a horrible experience.

Really enjoyed the dinner, atmosphere and staff. What a gem in downtown Waukegan. Had taco dinner, 1/2 dozen oysters, guacamole, fiesta gourmet and a cabrito en hoja de plantano. Very good. Quite the extensive menu. Highly recommend.
We had a party of 7 and every single dish had no seasoning. Literally all of our meals tasted like nothing. No salt, no pepper, no anything. The last time we had ordered food to go, same thing. Im not sure why they are scared to put a little bit of salt on their meat. No seasoning is used here. Unbelievable.
