Held an event here and everything turned out so well. The food was awesome and the whole experience exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend!!
I was really looking forward to Italian food but I ended up being very disappointed at Francesca's. The service and staff are excellent, no doubt about it. The problem here is definitely the food. The fried calamari was bland and very rubbery, seemed undercooked despite sending it back to get cooked more. The veal was tough, definitely not deserving of the price. The ravioli was good but reminiscent of frozen ravioli that you heat up in water. Again, not deserving of the price. I find that it unfortunate that restaurants that belong to large restaurant groups sacrifice food quality for profits. I don't need to go here again.
Good Evening,We had dinner with you last Saturday, and while I don’t want to be “that guy,” but I think you should consider getting the sewer problem fixed before seating anyone in the back of the restaurant. That really is a health department concern as well. While the quality of our food was great, our waitress seemed to be overworked (which didn’t hinder me giving her an almost 30% tip on a 200.00+ bill), we were very disappointed that we had to sit and smell a sewer through an entire meal. I don’t hold our waitress or the other staff accountable, but I do hold the management and the establishment accountable. I also feel that the bartenders should be more experienced in making whatever drink comes their way. I don’t want to share what drink that was as not to draw attention to myself, but it was an easy and common one. Another shortcoming. I can’t honestly say we’ll return soon. I hope you look into these as constructive criticism. Thank you.
Appetizer was excellent, pasta entree was undercooked, as well as risotto entree. Desserts were fine. Didn't have the wine we wanted but the alternative was quite nice.
After making reservations at Eden in St. Charles and waiting over 20 min for waitstaff to take our order after we had been seated, we got up and left extremely disappointed. We decided to give Francescas a shot as it was a short walk. Upon arriving we were greeted by a full restaurant and to our surprise were seated immediately. As our experience continued we were extremely pleased to have MaryBeth as our server. She consistently checked on us, was timely, very kind, and happy. Then we got our food and WOW ?!!!!! My son got pizza, daughter got gnocchi, and I got pancetti ala vodka. Foodies at heart, our palettes were IMPRESSED. We had to share our experience with MaryBeth and highlight that our expectations were not just met here but we're exceeded. We then were greeted by Jerome, I believe he was the manager. He heard of our experience at Eden and made sure we didn't leave without having a wonderful experience. We were treated with dessert and let me tell you....the Tiramisu was the best I've ever had. THANK YOU!!!! We will be back again and again!!!! This is how a restaurant should be. Way to set the right example!!!!
We've been dining here for over 20 years and love the food, atmosphere, drinks, and service. Very consistent and enjoyable.
My wife and I went to Francesca’s for a late lunch on Christmas Day. All n’ all it was pretty good. Our reservation was at 3 pm and they opened at exactly that time. As we got there a bit early we did have to kill some time walking around. So we got our table right away. Service was great as was most of what we ordered, the Pinot Noir that our server recommended and the mussels for example. Overall a nice evening meal.
We have been dining at Francesca's restaurants for over 20 years. Most recently we visited Francesca's by the River in St. Charles. We ALWAYS order the Mussels. My husband and I were disappointed this evening to see the size of the order was drastically reduced. In the past we have ordered a cucumber and pea pod salad, unfortunately it is no longer on the menu.We decided to order the Burrata salad tonight. It might be the worst item I have ever ordered anywhere. We were really disappointed. We ordered take out, so we were stuck with what we got.
Before I critique, I'll say first that the workers were very friendly and definitely hustling to attend to everyone. Despite being short-staffed, they did well balancing all of the customers and serving quickly. The sauteed calamari appetizer was delicious! However, the rest of the gluten-free menu was very limited and was less than impressive. I paid $30 for GF shrimp pasta, to only have 3 pieces of shrimp in the whole dish. We also got the lemon chicken and the portion size was very small. I don't feel like it was $80 worth of food altogether. Also the outdoor seating is only available in the warmer weather (for those looking for outdoor seating).
We had a post funeral dinner there and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing! The room was perfect because it was out of the way from the rest of the patrons. We could celebrate the life of our loved one in private. Definitely recommend this to everyone.
