This was my first time coming here and I was blown away by the food! You can get a mix of 3 'majors' for $13 if you don't want all of the same thing. I got the steak, pork carnitas, and salmon. I didn't know what to expect with the salmon and I thought the portion was tiny, but it was unbelievably good! They cooked it perfectly! The electives I tried (not pictured) were the sweet corn and the yuca fries. The corn is different, the flavor is fine but the consistency is like a halfway between cream style and corn on the cob. The yuca fries are really good, I'll definitely be getting those again! If you've never had those it's very similar to a potato, only more dense, slightly sweet, and not as starchy tasting. The blood orange margarita was okay, I enjoyed the tartness but I won't be getting another one.I'll definitely be returning here the next time I'm in the area! I absolutely recommend giving it a try.
I love it here. I have tried pretty much everything and their flavor combos are great! I always love that they offer a veggie option, like broccoli or sweet potato tacos-amazing! Yuca fries-delish! Fish tacos, Korean BBQ tacos, queso, salad, everything is so good. I will usually end up going a couple days in a row cause 1 visit is not enough. Margaritas (especially their special blood orange slush) are very tasty too. Don't forget to buy some hot sauce to take home, theirs is the only one I use anymore. Everyone working there is super friendly, and they have lovely, vibrant murals by a local artist all around. I love this spot!
If you have not been to Tacology, you have not experienced tacos. Every single thing I've ever eaten here has been over the top awesome. I'm so glad a mouth-watering place like this exists in springfield! You will not be disappointed!
We were in Springfield for the night and I was craving tacos. I asked Siri to find “great tacos near me” and it led my sister and I to this little gem! Siri understood the assignment. It’s walk up order style. Phil was welcoming and took us through the menu board, answered my questions and helped adjust the tacos to meet my dietary needs. So many gluten free options. It was amazing! Went their “undecided” route so I could mix and match. The sauce on the salmon/brussel sprouts taco? Incredible! I want a side of brussels with that sauce drizzled. Guac? Great flavor! We are leaving this morning and I’m sad they don’t open a little earlier or I’d grab some tacos for breakfast! In fact… here’s my idea. This one is free. You should do a Saturday only breakfast brunch menu and open a little earlier. You could do a whole “Homeroom”, “Breakfast Club” or “Saturday Detention” theme. Limited menu. Modify a few tacos recipes…add some eggs in those tacos, cauliflower gf hashbrowns for a side and serve Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas. #YouAreWelcomeSpringfieldWe make it to Springfield a few times a year and I will most certainly be back! See you soon Phil!Pictured:SalmonPork CarnitasBlack BeanNot Pictured:Awesome GuacMargPure Happiness
Upon first entering Tacology, I knew I was in the right place. The small sign that explained the process (step 1. Order at the counter, step 2 get a number...) made the consummate rule follower in me feel instantly at ease. Who wants to go into a new taco place and stick out like a sore thumb?! We were quickly greeted by the cool cat behind the counter, who we later learned was Phil, and despite following the rules exactly, he must have spotted us newcomers from a mile away! "First time?"... "Yes, were from out of town." Phil wasted no time and we were soon enrolled in Phil's School of Tacos. We declared our majors as UNDECIDED and therefore each got to sample 3 different tacos. Phil reminded us All Work and No Play... well, you know the rest, so we added Extra-curriculars of Chips and Guac and who can eat tacos without Margaritas?! Not us.Phil is a genius, his recommendations were perfection and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Our favorites were the Sweet Potato and the Salmon (we could eat that sauce on the Brussels sprouts on anything)! We have to go home this morning and Tacology doesn't open until 11... Next time, Phil... Next Time.
Incredible tacos - fresh, light, flavorful. Get past your notion of 'that's too much for a taco'. This is nothing like the ground beef run for border you're used to. I ordered a Salmon taco which had a fresh 3-4oz piece of meat on it, and the brussel sprouts were a nice touch. The fried fish was light and flavorful (crushed corn tortillas as breading? Amazing -) and the pork carnitas fell apart - spot on. $13 for an entree is a great spot for the quality of food and ingredients here. A perfect lunch for a busy day.
First time visit to the place. Ambiance is good. Good delicious tacos. Ordered the uncertain and sheared scallops special. Both were great.
First time customer. Placed an order-to-go at the counter. The decor was appealing and the service was quick and friendly. The steak tacos were among the best I've ever had. The chips were tasty and the guac was very fresh. Will definitely be back and try other menu items.
A touch pricey, but the food was umm umm good. The service was very good & the staff was friendly and attentive. Try the street corn - good stuff!
Visited (takeout order) about noon on 12/29/21. Superior food. I had the Undecided (sampler) taco platter and a side of black beans. The flavor of all items was excellent. The pork carnitas and black bean (veggie) tacos were spicy without being unpleasantly hot. As were the black beans. The steak taco a bit less spicy with a slightly sour hintDefinitely a future return visit destination for me
