The chilli now comes in even tinier containers, is thinner and no plastic spoon or crackers were provided for my take out order and all at the same original price. Hmmm.
I'm guessing the Steak n Shake owners have turned the business over to the "WOKE" grandchild. Customer service is not existent!!! When you elect to eat inside you order at the cash register where they ask how much tip I like to leave. Forget whether the food and/or service was good!!! The plastic ware was small and weak and tables dirty. Never will I leave a tip again prior to eating my food. On second thought... Bob Evans is right next door the next time.
For the past several years I have lived outside of Illinois with no Steak and Shake available. While driving through Springfield I was eagerly anticipating having a Steak burger and fries, which I did. I wish I had saved my money. There was no other customers present so when they served a cold hamburger I couldn't believe it. I picked it up at the drive through and ate in my hotel room, only a couple of minutes away. Not far enough to cause it to be cold. I would guess they made it earlier that day (I'm being kind) and just threw it in a bag. Please reconsider eating here.
My son and I went to eat there for Father's Day and his birthday, menu is considerably smaller and more pricey. Menu was also wrong, we both ordered a horseshoe and got a ponyshoe(one slice of bread, the meat, fries and cheese) went I said something about it, I was told that was the horseshoe and the menu was changed awhile back, even tho they never changed it in store. Their version of the horseshoe is one bread, 2 meats, fries and cheese( to me, that is still a ponyshoe) on top of that, they are charging almost $12 a piece. asked for a refund and gave food back because that is not what we had ordered, a girl in the back gave me attitude. Will never go there again.
Rang up wrong burger. Girl was walking around with a tray yelling over and over "who ordered BBQ burger". I finally looked at my receipt. I asked for Butter burger but rang me up for BBQ. When I did get the correct burger (which comes with sauté onions) it had 2 slivers of onion. Also, the BBQ burger I paid for cost more than the burger I got and I didn't get refunded the difference or even a apology. Very disappointed in the entire experience!
Still like steak & shake, but not thrilled with new method of ordering & such. I understand why, just not happy about it!
Not one order was totally right all the time I was there. I ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and only got a single. Was checking my bank statement today and found out I was charged an 11.40 gratuity and was pretty sure I had hit none. Make sure you double check your bill before you leave.
A MANAGER named Jill on the headset for the drive through was VERY DISRESPECTFUL!!!! She was irritated she couldn’t hear us and told us we need to speak up. So I of course raised my voice in order for her to hear us and she told me I could get out of the drive thru if I’m gonna be like that?!?! Then proceeded to hand us our food in the drive through with a very rude attitude. Very disappointed. Unbelievable. Don’t work here if you are so miserable with yourself and your job Jill!!! Do better Jill, or find a new job JILL because it’s actually pretty embarassing on how you treat your customers JILL, ESPECIALLY with being a manager!! We couldn’t control the WIND and that’s why you couldn’t hear us JILL!?!? Wow I have never dealt with such a rude woman who is suppose to be a manager somewhere!!!
I love steak 'n shake its my one stop for fast food I never have to wait and my order is always correct and I have yet to get a bad cheeseburger from them..
Girl named Jill in the drive thru is so disrespectful. Highly don’t recommend. Got mad because she couldn’t hear us so we started to speak louder in order for her to hear us and she told us we can get out of the drive thru if we’re gonna be like that. Very disrespectful lil girl. And she’s a manager !!!! Rude as hell. Don’t work here if you hate your job so much JILL!!!!
