Food was good and fresh. Employees were nice and did ok. I still do not like their self serve format and find it very inconvenient. I still like the food so I will continue to go. The whole experience feels cheapened compared to the way it was. Some who don't know SNS might never know the difference but for me it definately has changed my frequency from a couple times per month down to maybe 1 time every 3 months... Maybe
You literally cannot go wrong with Steak n Shake. It's a delicious classic with tons of options. Always fast, delicious, fresh, with clean restaurants. Gotta be my number 1 fast food place.
Never had a bad experience at a Steak N Shake, the burgers were very good & the fries were great. The steak burgers were very tasty.

Food was ok but terrible customer service. Manager was cleaning and preparing food without washing hands. He did not use gloves. I am not going back.
The best chocolate milkshake in Springfield. The old time burgers on the flat grill bring back childhood memories. I like the triple steakburger with cheese, onions, and ketchup,and the thin French fries are excellent. The prices are very reasonable, and they have Happy Hour for the shakes. This chain started in Illinois and is a quintessential Midwest hamburger place.

The best patty melt I've had in ages. They have changed into what's more like a McDonald's. You order at the counter, get yourself a seat, get your own drink and get your own condiments at a counter. I don't like that.
I went thru the drive up and when I got home I added my cheese sauce and while eating I discover a clump of hair in the sauce. couldn't finish my meal. not very happy.
The customer service was great! A small line in drive thru but it wasn't a long wait!! Food was awesome and the onions were absolutely perfect!!!
