We have had Hickory River the last two times we’ve been to Springfield and it has been good both times. Our family of 4 all ate for about $32 (one appetizer of BBQ nachos was big enough to split) with three meals and 4 drinks. The staff was friendly and the food was really good. The BBQ Horseshoe was really good and I’d recommend it.
We had a good meal for a decent price. Beware the ribs are not the fall-off-the-bone variety. They are cooked without sauce and the covered in sauce to order.
Love the pulled pork. Picked up a few pounds for pulled pork tacos for a family event. Went over great. Can't get enough.
Called to check if they had a cut of meat and they did. They also let me place my order and leave my name without having to pay them so was pleasantly surprised about that. Sometimes they run out of my meat and that can get frustrating since I live pretty far away. Thank you! Always friendly staff, large dining room and good BBQ food.

Pretty good food. Not the best we’ve ever had for sure! Baked beans taste like they’re out of a can and there are no refills for drinks
I am addicted to their pulled pork nachos with the spicy BBQ and jalapeños. Been going here since like 2010...love it.
I had garden turkey salad which was real good, also had baked beans that were very good, I had cherry cobbler that was good too.
Was really in the mood for BBQ so decided to try this place. Was super happy with the meal! I had the pulled pork and brisket with Mac and cheese and fries and corn bread. My boyfriend had the sausage with potato salad and chilli. We both really enjoyed our meals. The meats were flavorful. You know when you go to a BBQ place and everything tastes similar? NOT HERE. Each meat had its own unique taste, enhanced my the BBQ sauces. The cornbread was dense and I saved it to bring home. The fries were clean tasting and the Mac and cheese was great too. If I had visitors from out of town I'd take them here. My boyfriend said that this is our BBQ place now. We will definitely be back!
Great food. Good-sized portions. Very polite staff. They hustle! Clean. I’d go back again!
