I was craving some hometown food and found this Harold’s. I went inside to order and the food was very reasonable but as I sat outside to wait on my food I started reading reviews, upon doing that I noticed a lot of comments of food not being hot which mines was hot, I seen reviews about chicken being dark fried to hard like it was in dirty grease and it definitely looked like it was fried in dirty grease. The catfish combo said 4 piece and I’m thinking I’m getting 4 pieces of fish and it was like 4 fish tenders and the fries was cooked hard and the sauce didn’t taste original. It was a total disappointment and I wouldn’t recommend going here. If you’re going to buy into a franchise at least try and keep up the quality of food to match with the name you’re using.

I went in tonight after a very long day. I must say many bad moments interrupted my day so I was pretty down going to get food for the family. Big John and Rico were very welcoming, professional and clean. I noticed John and Rico was their hands a few times and they had on masks. We enjoyed the food and I enjoyed the experience. Keep it up y’all. It’s the little things that can make one’s day/night just a little better.Thank y’all. Oh yeah and the presentation of the food…on point ??
I visited this location in Springfield, and I was disappointed. It didn't compare to my experience at the Matteson Harolds Chicken, or the former Peoria Harolds. I ordered catfish fillets, a 6 pc which was $15 and I got strips and not whole fillets. And I also paid $8 for a tray of fries, which was more like 2 lrg fries, not enough sauce on my chicken, no sauce in the bag. I spent $53 dollars only to be disappointed ??????. I debated about driving an hour to Springfield, or driving 2 hours to Matteson, for what I know is fried delicious saucy chicken. Well, I know where I'll be going next time I really want some Harolds, because they do it right! As well as most of the Chicago area locations.
As a Chicago native I was extremely disgusted with the representation of Harold’s Chicken. The chicken was disgusting and had obviously been fried in very old grease. The facility was empty and the wait was over 40 minutes. To be served chicken that was prepared in old grease, fried hard, and was disgusting is a slap in the face. Will not be returning!!!
Been one of my favorite establishments for years. Happy we finally have one locally.
Food was okay, service is not good, please check your receipts or have them read the order back to you before you pay.

Everything I expected. Messed up my friends order.
So today I made the unfortunate choice to go to Harold's for my half hour lunch break. I ordered a small catfish and an 8 oz coleslaw. Instead of receiving an 8 oz coleslaw I was given a tablespoon amount of coleslaw in a tiny container. In my haste to make it back to work on time I only check to see if I was given fish and not chicken. Once I got to work I then realized the coleslaw amount was wrong. I tried calling only to receive a voicemail. Thanks for scamming me I won't be back.
