Not a bad pizza place. Only delivery or pickup. Thin crust was a little chewy and could have been cooked longer. Sauce was traditional with a little spice. Nothing really stood out as different than other local pizza places around our area. Breadsticks were big and had a lot of Parmesan cheese and butter on them. The marinara sauce was excellent.
They now only offer delivery or take out. The line of cars at the take out window is unbelievably slow moving. The amount of time they take to process a payment and hand over a pizza is truly bewildering.If you really want to try this pizza, go get in line, wait ten minutes, and then order your pizza.
I picked this place due to the positive reviews I had read. I was not disappointed. I ordered a Medium Special with Sausage, Onions, Mushrooms and Green Peppers. It was covered from edge to edge with a coating of very tasty pizza sauce, a generous amount of toppings, and a good layer of cheese to make it a great pizza. The crust was thin but still pliable and very tasty. I would love to have their restaurant in my hometown.
I adore old school pizza places so I thought this would be the one. The boys liked their thin crust pepperoni but my veggie needed lots more salt and spice. Very plain. Also, the pick up window process is not well thought out. You basically wait in line; almost first come first served but that doesn’t take into account my pizza had been ready for 15 minutes already. Not efficient. Staff were friendly.
I’m giving them two stars not the worst pizza I have had in town but it was nasty. I’m from Chicago and have ate pizza a lot. This and other places need lessons on what pizza is.
Still the very good Gabatoni's pizza That I used to get when I was a little boy, they were going strong after over 60 years, however it just isn't the same without the dining room open( take out) I Hope they will Consider opening the dining room soon.
I am a travel nurse working in Springfield and a pizza lover and my goal is to try all the local pizza places. So far this has been my favorite pizza in Springfield, after trying 7 places so far. I ordered the special, the crust was this and crisp and the ingredients were fresh, I really enjoyed the sausage. The parking lot does have a lot of pot holes but the great pizza overshadowed that. I recommended this one if you are in Springfield.
While visiting Springfield my boyfriend and I decided to try Gabatoni’s. Absolutely delicious! Our order was correct and the man who gave us our pizza was super friendly. Nice thin crust, good amount of toppings. We nearly finished our 16 inch pizza between the two of us! If we ever come back to Springfield we would go back here! So good!!!
Excellent pizza delivery took time but was worth it. Only 1 compliment every thing was cold, but we love cold pizza, next time I will definitely be dining in.
Picked up a pizza at the drive thru. The pizza was O.K. but not as good as it once was. I'm not going back until the parking lot and drive thru are fixed. There is a giant hole in the drive thru lane. My car bottomed out when I hit it. It's too bad the owner's have let this place go over the last several years.
