Great place, friendly staff. Have only been there once, but plan to go back. I had the hamburger steak with mashed and gravy, meat had a lot of flavor, mashed were well seasoned, and the gravy had a good beffy flavor.
We drove from Peoria to Six Flags St Louis and were rained out after 2 rides. On the drive home we stopped at Scheels and looked to grab some dinner. Since we all looked like drowned rats a family diner seemed the perfect no frills place. We checked reviews and this place seemed like a winner since we had 4 teenaged boys with us and didn’t want to break the bank. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal. The portions were plenty and the choices limitless since breakfast is served all day. My 13 year old was “starving” and ordered the tenderloin pony and didn’t make a dent in it. Our waitress knew it was my birthday and didn’t charge us for my to-go peach pie. Thank you!!! Definitely a great place to feed a hungry crew on a budget!!
The food is really good. Prices are reasonable. Won't go ever again because owner is a hateful racist. Makes me regret eating there. Politics are one thing, hate and racism is another.
Thank god my little breakfast stop is back open. Once again John Price DJ'S Cafe excellent food and fast service and a reasonable price. Spend that money local.

I love this place we use to eat there every week before bowling ? I love there Italian beef and tater tots with cheese and I love there ice tea the waitress always knows I drink ice tea and Italian beef friendly and good food and try there chocolate pie it’s to die for
Good quick service and love the nonstop coughing! If you are looking for some good biscuits DO NOT get them here. I got some biscuits and gravy and it was McDonald's worthy. Omelette was good and bacon was good. Solid 3 stars for a decent but not great breakfast.
