Good cold beer, fun atmosphere but food has been poor lately. Today there wasn’t much of a lunch crowd, there were 2 cooks. Our hamburgers were tough, over cooked. Seemed like they had been prepared ahead of time then toppings added.Well below usual standards. This was the second time it’s been unsatisfactory. And NOT related to staffing or supply chain issues.
Such an amazing place. Best burgers and sandwiches in the town. Tried the Avocado chicken sandwich and one build your own. So friendly staff.
Don't let the facade fool you. Food is excellent. I had the black and Bleu burger on the pretzel bun and it was perfect. Juicy, hot. Fries were hot, crispy. Very casual environment with excellent service
We stopped here for lunch while driving through to Memphis. I picked The Burger Bar from Trip Advisor Ratings. It’s located in a run-down Strip Mall so you might not choose to go here by the looks of the outside. Inside, it was a typical old bar with a dining area in the front. When we walked in, I was a bit hesitant, as we were looking for “less bar and more dining” but we didn’t regret staying afterwards. We sat at a high table in the bar to watch a couple Saturday college football games while we ate. The burgers were excellent and the fries were crispy and hot. The house-made potato chips were so good, we had to take the uneaten ones “to go.” The service was outstanding attributed to a high energy waiter who understands customer service. We were glad we stayed and I will go back if I’m in the area again. The only reason I gave this 4 stars rather than 5 is the rundown exterior and some features of the interior.

I haven't had a bad meal here yet. Love everything on the menu. One of the best horseshoes around. Everything I've ordered didn't disappoint. They also have Pabst on draft which is rare. If you like a good burger this would be one of the best places to visit in Springfield. A decent price on everything also. Could have a better location but that might be a plus for locals.

If you like spicy foods, this place is a Springfield haven. Try a burger with ghost pepper cheese and inferno sauce. Always consistent, food always comes out fresh and hot. The environment is casual & very laid back, and the waitresses are always professional. I've been here dozens of times and never had anything bad come out of the kitchen.
