Standard theater and pricing is very reasonable. However, air conditioning was not functioning in the middle of the summer. Given no notice (a warning on website would be appreciated) and when raised issue to management, they simply said “they have been having trouble getting the air conditioning working”.Had we known, we would have gone to a different theater to see the movie. No attempt at remediation for customers so will not be coming back to this theater.
So, this place has finally reopened after pandemic, but you should know that it is no longer a CinéBistro. They no longer have a more elevated menu, and they no longer come into the theater to take your order. We found this out tonight after arriving expecting this only to find out after the fact that they have completely changed the concept of this theater, but as of this writing, the CMX website still lists the Skokie location as a CinéBistro. We sat in the theater for 15 minutes before I came out to ask if someone was going to take our order only to find out that it's no longer a feature that's available there.Instead, there is a "sports bar" concept which is more of a glorified concession stand offering burgers (including plant-based options), chicken tenders (which despite them being described as beer-battered were definitely breaded, and mediocre), hot dogs, waffle fries, etc. The prices are high for the offerings, as is typical for a movie theater, and there are no standard accompaniments with these items such as fries - the combo is just the main dish plus a soda, but you can add popcorn if you want. Oh - and if you want them to deliver your food to you at your seat? They charge extra for that now, so just beware.Additionally, and this is likely because they just reopened and because the concept is new to everyone there, service was slow and it took us 15-20 minutes to even get through the line at the concession stand because there were two registers and 6 people behind the counter.Now - what I will say is that management was very apologetic and ultimately comped our food, and gave us "come back" passes to return and enjoy another film which we'll use, but we'll make sure to eat before hand instead of expecting a proper meal - we left hungry after our mediocre chicken tenders. They also silenced some loud people who were talking in the theater, which was nice, so they really do try to do what they can to make the experience okay. The seats themselves were super nice, and they were power recliners which really allowed us to get comfy.Overall - the movie was great. The in-theater experience was good. Management's response to the sudden shock of reality vs. what we were sold online was admirable. But the new concept is pretty lacking, and I feel like I probably could have gotten better food options at the OTHER CMX theater inside Old Orchard or if we'd just eaten at the B-Dubs next door.If you want to go, just be aware - you will not get the high quality in-theater dining experience that used to be offered here. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because management was really trying to do the right thing here, and I don't fault them for the decisions of corporate or the errors on the corporate site.

Great dine in movie theatre experience. Everything was super clean. The chairs were amazingly comfortable, food options were of course movie theatre priced but good quality. Would highly recommended this theatre.

I will never be back to this place. I came in with my younger brother Jake who is autistic, and the girl working at the register “Dani” laughed at him because he was stuttering and was nervous. I was so horrified and asked her to apologize and she just rolled her eyes and walked away. I couldn’t believe it, I didn’t even want to spend a dollar at that point, so we left the place immediately. Dani, you should really learn to treat people better.
