Amazing stop for ramen and udon. Definitely worth dropping by!

Very good food. The staff was nice and courteous. Will be coming back.

Nice place for lunch. Started with Agedashi tofu. Lightly bartered fried tofu in a dashi sauce. Nice and light. The pork and chicken katsu generous portions. Tender juicy and tasty. Will have to go back for the ramen.

I had a negative experience when trying to dine at Torizen on a Saturday night. I went as a solo diner and said I would prefer a seat at a table rather than the bar, because my back was a bit sore and the stools at the bar were backless. There was more than one empty table at the time (though perhaps they were reserved). After a discussion among the restaurant's staff, I was told I could only be seated at the bar. I was not offered the option to wait for a table to be free. I politely said "Thank you, but I will not dine with you tonight," and I calmly walked out. That was my experience. Obviously, this is the wrong way to treat customers.

The best ambiance of any restaurant ive been in. The food is great and the service was too. I love the decoration and design of the inside.Note the current photos on google maps are not up to date. The inside is has a more authentic design now

In town from New York and looked up a sushi place. The reviews were great so I went. I ordered green tea and she gave me brown instead. I ordered soup and they didn’t bring it for 10 minutes. Finally got the sushi and it was okNo way is this a 4.7. What a waste of time and money

A big fan of their new menu and rotating menu ?.

We love everything inside this Restaurant but not so much about food.Laid back feeling restaurant kind of hip music background but not too loud. Retro interior design. Restaurant offers many small dishes to start and many special of the day.Food came out fast and excellent services as well.Food was mild nothing stand out to our taste and some so weird like cure salty squid. Ramen was okay compared to another Ramen place across the street. Fried chicken was not enough seasonnig compared to Kitakata Ramen. Softshell crab was okay as well. Spinach with black sesame was different in a good way and deep fried tofu with fishy after taste mushrooms but well balanced sauce.

This restaurant is definitely one of the best and authentic Japanese restaurant I could find in the area. They have a huge menu full of different kinds of Japanese foodies. We went here for lunch and the place is kind of packed. We were about to decide to takeout our food but we saw an available table perfect for the three of us with my two friends including me and so we chose to stay. The staff in here is friendly and helpful and the service is quick. We ordered bunch of foods including takoyaki, gyoza, sashimi and tonkatsu for me and my friends ordered the miso ramen. The takoyaki is hot and it taste really good as well as the gyoza and the sashimi which are also fresh. I love my tonkatsu it is perfectly cooked, crispy, the pork is tender and the veggies taste fresh and of course it would not taste better without the sauce which really makes the dish fantastic. I highly recommend this place!

Discovered such a hidden gem. I had no idea about this place and I was in a treat! How did I hear about this place? A friend in Hong Kong said this is a must in when in Chicago! Of course I had to go if an overseas person recommends this! The food was so good! Nothing like your typical Americanized Japanese food. As a matter of fact, I got lost for a sec and forgot I was in America because all the tables near me were speaking Japanese, all whom looked like they were from Japan maybe for a business trip(?)We ordered many things and love that the menu changes daily depending on the specials. I'll definitely be back! Can't wait to try other items on the daily menu. Here's what we got:Kasamu sashimi- my dining mate really liked it. It was very fresh.Hotate garlic butter- omg so garlicky and buttery that we ordered 2!Ebi mayo- giant shrimp tempura... it was crispy and saucyTonkotsu Shoyu Ramen- I'm a spicy miso ramen type of girl. I wouldn't order again & instead save my tummy for other goodies.Nira tamago toji- I was expecting like egg omelet from what I know about tamago but it was eggs served in a broth. Warmed me up in a cold day.Seafood croquette- crispy on the outside and a little mushy on the inside.
