What the hell happened with this location. SECOND time just ordering a few hot dogs and fries and it taking a half hour. YOU ARE A HOT DOG PLACE! This is what you do!!!! Why the hell do I need to sit in the car lane for 15 min after ordering then sit in the waiting spots for another 20 min. Last time it was 45 min!!!Honestly this is my last time. Completely has gone down hill. Doesn't even taste the same. They don't even say sorry.
After hearing so much about the legendary Portillo's and planning our trip for nearly a year, we finally got to visit today, and the wait was worth every minute. It definitely didn't disappoint! On arrival, we were greeted with kindness by Pam, a lovely lady who walked us through the ordering process. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. The kids loved the chocolate cake shakes and the strawberry shortcake was soooo delicious! I ordered a couple extra pieces to take back to Michigan! We asked to speak to the manager (to offer our compliments to Pam) and Vinnie came right to our table. We were again met with kindness. We will definitely visit again. Great experience!!
I finally got my Chicago Hot Dog thanks to this place. It was my first so I guess it is really hard to compare however, it was so yummy! I also tried the sausage and it was very good as well. If your visiting IL and want to try a Chicago Hot Dog this is a great spot to go. Oh and they also have milkshakes.
If you like hot dogs and chocolate cake this place is for you! The cake shake is also amazing. First time see eating there and the hype was definitely true about it. Will definitely eat there again on my next trip to the Windy City!
First time trying this i wanna say WOW DELICIOUS OMG!! ? I had of course the Famous Chicago Style hot dog and the Beef sub very tasty.. Big menu items too choose from also i tried there new strawberry Lemon milkshakes also delicious. Family friendly place plenty of seats. I came around 7:00pm not a lot of people inside they do have a drive-thru long lines. Great service. Very clean also. I definitely recommend if you want too get great tasty food for the first time in Chicago too try this place hands down.
Waited 30 minutes after quoted pickup time to get an order. The manager that gave it to me said they made it fresh and included cake, but they only made half of the order fresh - one of the garden dogs and the fries that were supposed to come with the regular dogs were left out. This location has given me trouble with every time I order - online, eat in, delivery, every kind of order. This was a huge waste of $30 and time.
Be sure to get the Italian beef and a Chicago Dog. The Italian be was marvelous as was the Chicago dog. Great service and fast.
The food is great, which is why they have long lines at the drive-through. But the drive-through is so well organized you still don’t wait a long time.
