My husband and I chose Fratos to cater our backyard wedding. Chef Andy was our personal chef/coordinator who oversaw the entire process. We are so happy with the service!!! We opted to do a taco bar for dinner with a guacamole and salsa appetizer station for the cocktail hour. This was hands down some of the BEST TASTING guacamole and tacos we've ever eaten (and I grew up around authentic Mexican cuisine so that's saying something). The flavor in the cilantro rice was also incredible. And don't get me started on the homemade cheesecake brownies! Honestly, there wasn't a single item on the menu we didn't find absolutely delicious.But it's not just about how good the food tasted, it's the amazing service Chef Andy and his team provided throughout the whole experience. From the moment we called to inquire about their catering options to the tasting he arranged for us (even throwing in a complimentary order of their famous mozzarella sticks because we mentioned reading about them). Chef Andy takes such pride in his craft. It's not a job for him, it's clearly a passion and art. He genuinely wants to create a memorable and amazing experience for his clients and is always seeking to improve his craft. He called us the day after our wedding to see how everyone liked the food and encouraged us to give constructive feedback if needed. Well sorry to disappoint you, Chef Andy, but I can't think of a single thing that wasn't perfect in our eyes! ☺️ We loved EVERYTHING. And we are so grateful for your patience and flexibility throughout the process (ESPECIALLY when our venue changed 3 weeks out from our wedding to a considerably farther location). You still showed up on time and our food remained warm through the cocktail hour and dinner.Thank you for all your hard work and effort, Chef Andy. We will DEFINITELY be using your services again and recommending you to EVERYONE!!! Fratos is the best because they employ those with a true passion for their work. You will not be disappointed!
Got a order of a burger w/ fries and their signature mozzarella sticks to try. $20 for the burger w/ fries was very overpriced and about 3/4 of the size of Kumon's. Kumon also tasted better. The mozzarella sticks came with 3 of them, 2 of them are overcook and popped, so there's no cheese inside. Anyway, the sticks are very average with very thick breading. Needless to say, will not be back. This place is overrated and overpriced.
It's getting way to expensive to eat here!! I've been coming here for the last ten years. It was better when Chef Ed was still here (RIP). I understand inflation, increasing food prices, the pandemic, a livable wage, and so forth. The food is good though. I do think that it is going downhill a little bit. The staff is nice also. I think that they need to revamp their menu. Like getting rid of the brisket and other high cost foods. That could be a way to bring their menu prices down for us, the consumer. I understand of being a scratch kitchen and doing unique things with the menu. That the cost would be a little more than surrounding restaurants. I bet that the owner is going to reply with some sort of belligerent comments.
Most underrated pizza in the suburbs. The hand tossed pizza is super tasty, not too thick, not too thin, alongside savory sauce/cheese. I’ll be a very frequent customer. Love this place
Delicious, creative and truly homemade food here at Frato’s! They’re always inventing something new, but their classics are always ready for you, too! You can’t pass up their amazing and giant Mozzarella sticks, they are the best I’ve ever had by far! Super casual location with delicious, mouth-watering, fresh comfort foods that most places can only pull off with frozen foods. Had the Wisconsin dairy burger and loved it. Husband's plate of potato wedges was easily two full potatoes! And I couldn't stop drinking the oreo cheesecake smoothie. Can't wait to come back with the kids and try more items!
Got some food for pickup so photo is on my desk. Was actually pretty surprised how good the veggie burger is, I'd honestly say it's the best in the area. Texture was good, not too dry or wet, but the bottom bun did seem a little flimsy. Wedge fries are quite tasty, and there were many delicious extra crispy ones in the bag. Picking up was quick and easy, and I plan to return to give that goat cheese pizza a try
