Ali baba kabab is a Persian Mediterranean restaurant located in a strip mall directly behind a lighting store and kitty corner to a Taco Bell. There’s plenty of parking out front. You order your food at the counter and then sit down and they bring it out to your table. All meat prepared is halal. Good quality, fresh, hot and delicious. Our food came out quickly and we started with falafel then worked our way to the lamb shank platter and the combo chicken kabob and beef sharwma platter. The generous lamb shank meat fell off the bone and melted in our mouths! The seasoned basmati rice was both aromatic and tasted exotic! It was served with a refreshing salad that was a nice mix in between bites of meat. The chicken kabab and sharwma platter was very good served with 2 sauces; 1 hot and 1 creamy garlic. Both were great accompaniments to this combo of meats. Definitely coming back for lamb shank and also trying other entree items!

Clean, simple, unassuming and absolutely delicious food! I have nothing to compare it with but I know food and theirs is really good. We had the baba ganush for starters. It was very seasoned well, citrusy, creamy and just a delight. Paired with their flat bread, it was the perfect start to a great dinner. My husband had the Lamb Mandhi and the meat was falling off its bone. Its was seasoned very well but the garlic sauce elecated that dish even more. I couldnt decide what i wanted so i got the mixed platter on basmati rice. It came with pork kabob, grilled chicken and beef. I also paired it with the garlic sauce and that was just beautiful! Unlike other mediterranean dishes weve tried, theirs was not overwhelmed in spice. They were able to very subtly marry their spices with their meats. They offered us hot sauce separately and i thought that was very considerate. We ended the meal with slices of baklava and some indian tea with milk. This was a great dinner and we will come back to try their other dishes! 5 star!

Best Mediterranean Restaurant, We did plan a family event at Ali Baba Kabab-Schaumburg and it’s was wonderful, fresh hot falafel, with there best Mediterranean beef and chicken sharwama that came along with crispy fries with tasteful seasoning on it. And then came the Big Family platter with all meats in it and the best part was they split the big platter into two half’s for guest to have it easy. We used the there space to have some family speech which went some long but they were very comfortable staff to have us there and enjoy our event and great follow up on order served.Food- 10/10Ambiance- 9/10 ( should add more Mediterranean decorations)Staff-10/10Thank you making this event memorable to us.

The combination plate I was ordered was served cold, then I recognized the meat was Super Unfreshed and Burned. Looks like they cooked over a day ago, from previously customers... The waitress just ignored my comment about food. So disappointing

Great find in the Chicago suburbs. Nice food, great flavor potential. We went for a group dinner after a hard day of participating at a tournament. This was a nice place bc they had food that catered to some of our teammates that are vegetarian. They loved their baba ganoush, hummus, and falafels. My boyfriend ordered the lamb shank, which was OMG, friggin melt in your mouth soft and delicious. It came with plenty of rice as well as an au jus of some sort.I think I ordered the Lamb and Kofta Plate. Again, very generous portions with the rice, came with a salad as well. Overall, it was fine, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite Mediterranean place I've ever had. The lamb pieces were just on the edge of almost burnt, but not there yet, but they were busy preparing food for the 10-12 of us. Sadly, I was so hungry, I forgot to take a pic of that, lol.The service was pretty good, and they were very nice and accommodating for our party size. The employees were very polite and nice. I'd definitely wanna try and get that lamb shank next time I go there, or their veggie plate. Thanks for feeding us. Hope to be back again. :)

We went to Ali baba for a birthday celebration and the food and ambience was not what we expected after reading the reviews online. We were expecting a nice sit down place where the server would take our order. The staff was nice overall but we got the impression it was a bit of a hassle for them to serve us.I ordered the mixed grill platter and the meat was above average but I wasn’t very impressed. We ordered 6 piece of falafel and they were a bit over cooked. My wife ordered the Tahina salad and she felt the salad was average. Overall, we all agreed that pita house is still tops in the area for Mediterranean food.

I surprising with the owner was Indian he did this shawarma better than too many Arabic owners restaurant but The garlic flavor was a bit too much but again for the Indian maker was very good

Terrible food. Dry and old meat/chicken, wasn’t prepared fresh. Very small portion sizes, not what they advertise. Poor customer service. Would not recommend

Although the food was seasoned well and cooked delicious, we found the portion sizes very small. For a group of 4 of us, we ordered 6 dishes to fill us up as there was not enough protein (although a lot of rice). Unlikely that we will be back, it is unfortunate though as we drove all the way from Elgin to eat here.
