We stopped at this restaurant during a road trip. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly! I got the Taco Dinner with Steak and Chorizo. Very flavorful.
Moved here in September. Have been here Atleast 8 times. Staff is so friendly. Food is phenomenal. The cucumber margarita with tajin rim is FIRE! They also have some taco wall art I always consider swiping for my house. No worries, it won’t happen, it’s too big for us to steal! Haha. Quesabirrias and Gordita’s are a staple here. Everything is consistently fresh, great and fair pricing. 100% will always recommend and always be a lifelong customer. Thank you for your greatness!
Not from the area; I’ll visit here when I’m in town food is great. Wish I could say the same about the customer service. Lady upfront isn’t the friendliest or the most welcoming. Will continue to support small businesses though.
I ordered delivery from a third party service. It was my first time trying this place out. I’m sincerely and sadly very disappointed ? incorrect items. Missing items and the most sour rice I’ve ever had. Unfortunately this is a one and done place for me. Will not be returning.
We love La Tortuga, the food is excellent and the owners are so fantastic. The food is always warm and cooked perfectly, can’t recommend them enough.
Loved the food.Tried all the Mexican food places in Romeoville but this one is definitely the best. Chips and salsa all homemade. Felt like I was back in Chicago. This is my family's new restaurant. Friendly staff.
Some of the best tacos I’ve ever had, the family that owns this restaurant is so sweet and personable. My personal favorite is the chicken tacos with a double side of their rice with salsa verde ??
First and last time going here.It was a clean, colorful themed place with great people working here but the food quality is just not there unfortunately.I ordered the flajta dinner fairly priced but the steak was flavorless and very over done, so chewy my jaw was getting tired chewing it down. It came with 4 tortillas which I was able to make 3 decent tacos out of the whole platter. It came with rice which was moist and not dried out but again was flavorless. Also it came with beans which were barely warmed (picture shows how cheese not even melted on top of the beans showing how it was on colder side)They have 1.50 mini taco Tuesdays (steak, beef, pork) I got 1 pork and it came out so dry and no flavor i had to drench it with hot sauce to enjoy.My mom got the red enchilada dinner which comes with 3 enchiladas but after trying to cut into the one it was so burnt on the underside we had to ask for a new order since they were all burnt badly underneath. They had no problem replacing it but when they brought the replacement out, they only replaced 2 since my mom took a bite from the first order. Not only did they bring out 2 over done enchiladas again but why wouldn't they replace the 3rd as well if the first order was all burnt.Lastly, their horchata is poo here. It taste like bubble gum after chewed for 10 mins with a mild flavor if you know what I mean.
We have recently moved here and dined here 3 times over the past three weeks. The staff is so friendly and does a great job serving. The margaritas (cucumber!) are to die for. The food is so authentic. I can’t imagine going anywhere else now that we have found this amazing restaurant. Thank you!
