Cant ask for anything much better in Rockford for fast and great meal at a reasonable cost . Food is always hot and cooked to perfection every time I have gone there . No matter who sells Gyros in town , his cant be beat for price and size !
They (sometimes) skimp out on the meat when you get things like an Italian beef, but it always tastes fantastic.
Well for the most part I'm not a local and what you would think of where the restaurant is, it's not. It across the street in an old service station. I ordered the Philly cheese steak and I was not disappointed. Food came out fast and was delicious. The sandwich was actually pretty sizeable too. This is more of a Dive restaurant that's take out only. No complaints.
Haven't been to Uncle Nick's in over 20 years, had the opportunity and it was every bit as good as I remembered.Brought back a Baklava for my wife, it's the best she's ever had.
Extremely fast service, great people! I added on last minute and they brought the food out to my car for me in just a couple minutes! Such a great experience!
I have been coming here for late night food for the past 30 years. I can say though that the food itself has taken a turn for the worse. Smaller sandwiches and the gyro isn't nearly as good as it used to be. I do understand that it serves a purpose to all of us late night eaters trying to put some food in our systems after a night out on the town... However, just like everything, it's definitely gone down hill a bit. The chicken sandwich though was delicious and piled high with fresh lettuce and a thick cut tomato.
Uncle Nick's is the best authentic Greek gyro spot in Rockford It's been 30 years since I last visited here after moving from IL. They still are the best. Same awesome gyros as I remember.
When my wife is demanding gyros at midnight, Uncle Nicks is the only choice you need! Always friendly, great prices, and they bring your order out to you.
Best gyro in town. Been coming here for 20+ years. Older paisa is cool and lets you place order over the phone unlike the gordo desgrasiado that sometimes works the register. Food is always better at this location for some reason then the E State location. I wish they would open one in Loves Park but food probably wouldn’t be as good just like E State location
Food seems to have gone down in quality lately but it's still not a bad place to eat. I have noticed a reduction in the amount of meat they put in the gyro and fries seem less fresh than before.
