The soup & salad bar never disappoints. Highly recommend.
Their Sunday brunch has become the worst ever. The last two times we went this year it was awful. Food was cold and service was terrible. We used to go there all the time years ago but when they started changing up their menu it went downhill fast.
4:00 p.m. (ct) Tue. May 24, 2022.I ABSOLUTELY LOVED Thunder Bay Grille Restuarant on Mon. 5/23/22. Pictured Meal>> Appetizer was Bison Meatballs in dark gravy with Mushrooms & Pearl Onions, omg. Entree was 11oz. Ribeye cooked Med well, seasoned just right, no need for Steak Sauce, Horseradish or anything. Parmesan Mashed Potatoes & the bread seen is Parmesan Cheese Crusted with Olive oil, if desired. Salad comes with ur meal. I recommend anyone & everyone to have a meal @ the THUNDER BAY GRILLE in Rockford, IL. It's worth every nickle u spend in this "Rustic but Fine Dining Establishment". I LOVE IT!! I LOVE IT!! Oh, Angel my Server was absolutely fantastic, very attentive & very pleasant.
We went here for Lunch on a Wednesday, Upon entering we got a comfortable feel for the place it felt like we got transported into the early 1800's Trading Post due to the Decor. After placing our orders another waiter was helping with our table was making sure all our needs were addressed and was very satisfying. We later asked if they did this all the time because it really made the difference in the whole visit and he said yes but he was our server and the other person was the Manager helping him out. We were amazed because we also watched this Manager do everything from Busting tables, Taking orders and everything in between the food was EXCELLENT but the service exceeded all expectations I would give 10 stars if it was available!!!
The northern Canadian theme that reflects the name of the restaurant is fun and funky, but the highlight is the cajun/creole cuisine, which is awesome! We tried the crab cake appetizer, which was delicious, and then the shrimp jambalaya and blackened fish, which were both perfectly prepared, with just the right amount of spicy zest and lots of flavor. Even the home-made bread was special. Service was friendly and efficient, making for a very enjoyable dinner. Highly recommended.
WORST Easter brunch ever. Took 40 minutes just to get water to the table. Food is COLD. Omelets that we had made were RAW in the middle-Runny egg everywhere. The prime rib is DRY and you can't even chew it. Waiter was PISSED when he came to give us water. He slammed our glasses down in front of us. My dad told him he didn't have to have an attitude with us. This is a CLUSTER!!! AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE HORRIBLE FOOD AND HORRIBLE SERVICE. WASTE OF MONEY AND WASTE OF MY TIME. EDIT: The Manager did not make us pay the bill. Thanks you for recognizing you had an issue with your brunch.
Case/Cage was our hostess and he was great... he described the food in detail and was very friendly. The food was delicious and when in the area we would definitely return for another meal, drinks and hospitality!
It had been a while since I had last eaten here. The menu offerings had diminished, but what they did offer was of fine quality. Nothing cheap on this menu, but the atmosphere & the service all made this a very pleasant dining experience. Food portions were very generous as was the quality. Highly recommend.
Best chain restaurant brunch in the business. Not just your typical buffet options, they had Eggs Benedict, a salmon pasta, ribs and so much more! The kids loved it and were half the price, so it was a good deal too. Nothing but empty plates! We'll be back for sure
We ate in the bar area. The waitstaff was super friendly. I had the prime rib. It was very good, but a little pricey. I ordered the 18 oz and took half home. So I got 2 meals for my $34. Not bad.
