Great Food, Service and Good Atmosphere
this is an awesome restaurant! we were traveling from Florida to Saskatchewan. one of the nights we stoppped at the motel in the same parking lot. we ate dinner there and was so impressed that I made sure on our way back to Florida we stopped there again! OMG I wish you would come to Florida! I was so impressed with how absolutely delicious your food was. I will make sure if we head up that way again, I will work my driving schedule around stopping there!
I was in town on business and was looking for where to eat dinner and Tavern was on the radar. When walking in it had a bit more casual feel than I was expecting which isn’t a good or bad thing. Sat at the bar and ordered a Manhattan. It was pretty good, some attention to detail wasn’t there but a good drink. I had the seared tuna app. It was good but I was surprised the noddles that came with were warm. Initially I was expected it all to be cold. But it was good. I had the NY strip Med rare with the peppercorn crust. It was cooked perfect. It came with a peppercorn sauce which was good but I though it was just going to be crusted. The sides were fine, mash and a vegetable. I had a couple glasses of wine and a good meal overall. The bartender as attentive and polite. This was my first stay in Rockford and I’ll probably try some additional restaurant exploring the next time in town.
We Went for Mother's Day.. We had made reservations prior so we were in on time no wait like some other establishments have done to us in the past. They were very busy, but our service was phenomenal. The hosts were very welcoming and our waitress was very attentive , The food was delicious, however the entree that I ordered they were out of and I was asked if there was anything else in the menu that interested me and if I wanted to see the menu again. They were very courteous about so I had another choice, so it was ok.. The only thing that they could have changed or added is usually establishments give out a Single Rose on Mother Day to moms. Overall was a great Day Thank you

Great food, great atmosphere! Made a reservation and was 10min late because of work. Still was able to get me in very quickly! Good portions. My Lady and I split an appetizer, had our sides and our main entree will little left overs. Highly recommend
A great place to stop for lunch on our way through town. The steak was excellent. Atmosphere was nice. The service was great even though they were pretty busy during the lunch rush. I would stop here again when in the area.
Hands down one of the Best!! meals we have had in a long time!!!Blackened Salmon... Whiskey Shrimp & Blackened Shrimp Pasta with a bottle of Rombauer Chard. This place is amazing and you won't be disappointed! Sorry no pics but from a restaurant veteran...I promise you won't be disappointed. Delicious! Isabel was an awesome server as well!
Had a great burger and my wife had buffalo chicken flat bread. Both were great as was the service. If we are in the area again, we will stop again.
I often visit Rockford on business. This is a must when I am in town and want a nice meal. From the appetizers, meal, and follow through with a dessert -- Tavern hits a homerun. Its always delicious and the wait staff is attentive. Tavern is a place where you can bring clients, a date, or a family meal. The Tavern never disappoints. Keep up the good work and I will see you again on my next trip.
