Busy chain restaurant. Great menu selections. Awesome prices! Upbeat attitude from all workers. I had the Polish Sausage Dog with extra hot peppers and sweet peppers.
I had never heard of this place until I was in Illinois visiting my in-laws, but I was very impressed. I had only had a Chicago style hot dog at a Cub game many years previously to this trip. My meal at Portillo's was much better than the Chicago hot dog that I remembered from the past. This restaurant also has a neat history with several past celebrity visitors. This is documented on the walls of the restaurant by signed photos and other memorabilia. Be sire to give this place a try if you are visiting or driving through the area!
First time visiting and loved it! The beef and cheddar on the croissant was amazing. And the chocolate cake is a must have! I wish we had one in NC.
First time eating here. The staff were phenomenal, but this one lady working the seating area was the nicest, most informative, hardest working lady! I was extremely impressed with her work ethic and kindness! Unfortunately I was unable to get her name. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The people and food were fantastic. I will definitely stop back there, every time I am in the area!
My first time at one. The italian steak was grey with almost no flavor and the flavor that was there was unpleasant. How do people like their steak? I didn't finish eating it and I don't like go waist food.The sausage was good so I pulled that out of the steak and sausage sandwich I got and ate it alone.The traditional portillo hotdog was good, but what is the point of putting relish and a pickle spear on the same hotdog?French fries are nothing special (not bad).
Now I get what everyone is raving about when they talk about the food here. I had the beef and sausage sandwich and it was Delicious. Truly unique to anything I've ever had. The gravy is amazing. If you're OK with a messy, soggy and delicious sandwich then go to Portillo's.
Always good here. My son really loves it he comes all the way up from Atlanta Georgia and wants to eat here every time he comes home.
Portillo’s is always excellent! Great food, great service, fair prices. All is true with the exception of the Rockford location. I’ve visited here several times and have had a problem every single time. They always manage to disappoint. Last night was no exception. We were in a hurry and opted for the drive thru and took food back to hotel. Chopped salad looked like it was prepared long in advance . House bread was literally so stale that is crumbled when trying to eat it. Asked for extra house bread and received extra dressing. Chicken nuggets were horribly over cooked and breading was inedible. I’ll continue to patronize Portillo’s because they generally are consistently excellent; however, I will never return to this location.
The guy taking our order at our car window recommended the best deal for what we were ordering and ended up making an extra $2 for the franchise! Good job!
The team here was a hoot tonight! Totally entertained my husband’s request of Portillos hats— he wanted what y’all were wearing! Food was great, as always. Perfect end to a last minute date night!
