Great food…large helpings. Waitress was one of the best we’ve had in a long time.
Food is good, waitress friendly
Friendly staff. Good seating. Lots of items on the menu. Quick service. Good Good. Nice decor. Plenty of parking.
I had a wonderful Cobb salad that was full of all the good stuff; avocado slices, chicken, olives, tomatoes and eggs. It was huge too! Everyone at my table had something different and all were happy with their meals. They started us out with bowls of cottage cheese and Cole slaw and also a nice moist pumpkin or spice bread and rolls. The refills for drinks kept coming also. The only thing I would say is the waitress kept trying to take our plates while we were still eating. Not sure why she was in such a hurry, but that part was a bit irritating. Otherwise all very good.
Stopped in for lunch. The dining area is absolutely gigantic, so there was no need to wait for a table. Ordered the Pot Roast with mashed potatoes and green beans. The pot roast was delicious, but the green beans and potatoes had a bit of an odd taste to them. Fortunately, the flavor of the pot roast more than made up for the lackluster sides. I did not have room for homemade pie, but it looked quite tempting.
Heard great thing about Machine Shed so my wife and I went for dinner. Took a while for the server to take our order. My brisket sandwich tastes like bbq sauce. The meat itself did not have much flavor. My wife had the pork tenderloin sandwich. She said it needed seasoning since it was bland. The coffee was good. One star mostly the service. Server came to out table with the check and quickly said we can pay up front. Then went to serve the other table with a smile.
First off, this is probably not a very fair review because I haven't eaten here lately where I ordered off of the menu, that's why I went with 2 stars instead of 0 or 1. This visit was on Mother's Day and they only offered a buffet. I brought my dad here and thought we'd give their buffet a try, even though it was (in my opinion) very expensive. Our waitress was incredible and very attentive but that's where the "positives" stop. The restaurant was only half full at best and half of the buffet options were empty. What was there was cold. I chalked it up to timing, so I waited 15-20 minutes then went back for more only to see the same thing. My dad ended up eating the "kids food" which was mini corn dogs and chicken strips, he took one bite of all the other food and shoved the rest aside. He was not interested in giving it a second try. We ended up paying just short of $100 for 2 very subpar breakfasts.... then going to eat somewhere else. Could I have complained and gotten money back...maybe but with it being a buffet, I couldn't bring myself to complain to the poor server that was already doing her best to keep up. I might go back here again sometime but it won't be in the near future, and definitely won't be for a buffet!
We are finishing up a month long tour of 15 states and this restaurant provided us with the best supper we have had. The service was great and our server, although new to the position, was very polite and accommodating. I had the roast turkey dinner and my husband had the barbecued brisket.
I was so excited to recommend this restaurant for our mini family get together because I it would be my first visit. The atmosphere and restaurant is clean and laid back with nice tables and booths. I was disappointed to find out that at 11:30am we can order from a one page breakfast menu or the dinner menu. I had reviewed the lunch menu online and already had an idea what I wanted. When I asked our server I was told they go straight to dinner menu on Sunday. So if you want the full menu go on another day.
Hello Everybody, just had Breakfast at the Machine Shed in Rockford. I arrived with family around 8AM, wasn't sure if they were open because there wasn't many cars. But we went right in and was seated. This establishment has a very Country vibe just like the Cracker Barrel complete with store. As said there was only 4 other diners in the establishment. With that being said you would expect at least good food with your order made correctly. This was not the case though, the cook, not chef was not able to get the orders on the right plates and for the quality of the food they served....well I guess I would say mediocre but Not worth the price. Portion size is good; but if you have to scrape the food off my plate to put it with the order it belonged to. Well I didn't think that looked or felt good. I can only rate the Eggs Benedict and I would go somewhere else, I have definitely had better. I can't say how there lunch or dinner rush is but I wouldn't go back to find out. If you choose to dine here for Breakfast I wish you well and pray you receive the your order as you expect. Good Luck my Friend's
