Excellent and authentic. Steak burrito or chicken burrito, you can’t go wrong. I’ve been eating here for almost 20 years, decor has changed still the burritos are awesome. Also try the fish taco. The “sketchy” neighborhood is safe. Katy corner from the street is an old grand hotel that now is a low income high rise. Right on the edge of downtown Rockford, you should check it out. Laptedooma
Legitimate authentic Mexican food. I really liked the al pastor and the chorizo. Dine-in service is a bit odd. You order at the counter for delivery to the table. To leave you’ll need to get your check from a server. Clean restaurant in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood.

The food here is really good. I personally like their fajita plates. The food is cheap too for how quality it is. They have a customer for life here!

Al pastor tacos are unlike any I've had before and tortas are an excellent choices.
Had the lengua buritto, it was alright. It was lacking in flavor per se, but the hot suace was decent and the portions where good for 6.50$ or so with tax. I'd definitely try another one again I'll probably do the cabeza next.

So good. You can't pass up authentic Mexican food! I love getting a chorizo torta con aguacaté, or chorizo tacos, steak tacos, any kind of taco they have! With your order they serve crema, and a mild salsa or spicy salsa to help play up your taco. If you eat here, try their orchata for a drink. It's super delicious and refreshing! When we order Los Portales, we usually like to carry out because the atmosphere is just cold and bland, but I promise the tacos are to die for! The food is truly what it tastes like to eat in Mexico City. Natural, and authentic at its finest.
