May and the Zeng family have been running Great Wall for well over 40 years. I love walking into a restaurant and feeling completely at-home, almost to the point where I can take off my shoes and socks, but I keep it cool and classy on date night.The people at Great Wall will go out of their way to make sure you walk away from dinner completely satisfied. Dine in or order takeout for your next Chinese craving!For cocktails, I recommend getting a Blue Lotus. We love a fruit/vodka mix to kick off a wild night in Rockford.

Takeout ? order on 3/18/22 @ 5:30p. Orange chicken was limp (not crispy). Hot sour soup was warm, but neither the traditional hot, nor sour. Likely simmering all day. Fortune cookies were as thin as paper....I recommend Lung Fung on Perryville.

I had not been there since the pandemic hit, and the food was still very, very good but…. The service was lacking. Four soups came out together and it was much much more than 15 minutes before the egg drop soup came out. There was only one waiter and he was doing his best as there were a fair number of customers, so there is no criticism there, but the owner/receptionist and the bartender were not busy and should have been helping him. Then it took forever for the entrees to arrive and when they did they were lukewarm. The bartender/hostess/waiter never asked if we wanted a second drink order, and we easily had time before the entrees arrived. I’ve been going there for more than 30 years and I like the food, everything we got was excellent tasting, so I’ll probably go back and see if they get their act back together.
Best Chinese food around! Delish every time. Service is amazing. Very clean. Great atmosphere and the prices are incredibly low for the amount of food they give you. We always have take home. Highly recommended!!! SO GOOD! They also have slots and great drinks.
Their moo shoo pork has always been my favorite dish since I was a child, so for about 25 years. I also love both the egg drop and hot & sour soup and their egg rolls
I'm so disappointed...I've been coming in and or Cary out for over 30 years ....I could not believe the parking lot lights out at 7:00 ...dark ..I go in and ,I thought I would tell them their lights were off ...she knew , said kitchen closes at 7:30 ...ok ...well it's dangerously dark in your parking lot ...it's just not safe ..and you can't see .. why so eager to close at 7:00 ...red flag...no beef out of beef ...ok I'm told 30 mins ...for carry out ...I leave ..come back and waited another 20 mins ,,,to only go home to a tasteless 38 dollar waste ....I expect your food to be as good today as it was 30 or 40 years ...you advertise 40 years in business ....the place looks like a garage sale ...I'm not a person who really cares ...but when your Avon means more then the food ..well stop using the 40 years of great walls reputation to sell me Avon ...I don't want Avon , I want good quality Chinese food .got a dangerous parking lot a garage sale and lousy food. ,
