I LOVE this restaurant! Staff is always wonderful and so sweet! I always get Maria and Macrina the food is delicious, the mahi mahi tacos are to die for! The restaurant is beautiful. They ALWAYS accommodate anything I need. I can not recommend Fuego Nuevo enough!
Went here while in town for work after reading the reviews. Got seated real fast and we ordered our dinner within 5 minutes of walking in. Took 10 minutes to get the drinks and after an hour of waiting for our simple meals we ended up leaving. We would have waited if the waitress would have told us it was taking a bit to make or she will check on the food. But we did not here from her besides filling our drinks.
Their tacos are addicting. The food drinks are great. Everything comes in big portions with great salsa and chips. Would eat there daily if I could. For $30, you get tons of tacos, alcohol, and all the salsa and chips you want. The servers are great as well.
I am not a huge fan of Mexican food, at least I thought I wasn’t from bad experiences in the past.. but my boyfriend convinced me to give it a try. I was so upset after the first bite, because I realized I was going to have to tell him he was right ? I loved the food, the drinks are amazing, and the best part is the service. The staff is so kind & friendly. They knew my boyfriend by name when we came in and asked about his family.. made me feel so comfortable. Salsa and ceviche are great.. we kept eating it and couldn’t eat much of our dinners because we were stuffed.. I don’t really understand the different foods, so I asked for something cheesy, he asked me about different things I do and don’t like & said he will make it extra cheesy for me.. when he served it, he followed up making sure I liked it. It was amazing, I’m craving it now ? Thankyou so much!
I was exceptionally satisfied with this place. I had the Chorizo Torta and their hot sauce were both fire and flavorful! They even have good beer on tap! I went with an old favorite modelo negra!The service was so friendly and attentive! Muchos gracias por favor!!!
The food was excellent and the drinks were even better. Atmosphere was nice, clean, and inviting. Can't wait to go back and enjoy on their patio this summer!

One of the best restaurants in Rockford. The atmosphere is pretty cozy. Service is great. Good is amazing. I had the enchiladas and the quality of the beef was superb. Rockford has some really bad restaurants, but Fuego Nuevo Grill stands out among them. Go here for great food. Margaritas were on the weak side but still tasted good. Get the enchiladas. Or the tacos. Get anything and enjoy. Seriously, Rockford has some bad restaurants. Eat here.
I’ve always had an amazing experience here in terms of great food and customer service. Last night, however, they were really busy and we waited 1.5 hours for a door dash order; and our dasher said we should call the restaurant because “they don’t know where our order is”. So I called them and the person said, “We have 25 door dash orders and I have no idea how long your order is going to take and I don’t have time to check and hangs up”. We spent 150 dollars on the order for a few people. I get they’re busy and we got our money back but I’m thinking, “There’s no way you can temporarily stop taking door dash orders?”.There’s gotta be a simple fix to this problem! Do better
