We were visiting Quincy for the first time, just a 2-day visit. We ended up eating lunch and dinner at Tiramisu because 1) it was so good; and 2) most restaurants and many other businesses are closed on Mondays. It was busy at lunchtime and full at dinner. It is a very pretty place in an old building on a main square in downtown Quincy. All high ceilings, white tablecloths and attractive murals on the wall depicting scenes from Italy. It is clear that the owners and staff really know how to run a restaurant. The waiters were very professional, the kind who make a living from being waiters, not the kind that are waiting tables while going to college, though some may have been. They are very busy, hustling purposefully from table to table and table to kitchen always watching for a customer who may need another drink or who has a question. Not a step is wasted. The food is not the equivalent of what you might get in an expensive Italian resto, but you get more than you pay for. I had calamari frito and a very good Caesar salad for lunch. For dinner my wife and I shared chicken Marsala that was quite good although I would have appreciated a bit more of the Marsala flavor. I forgot my hat and when we were 2 blocks away our waitress came running after us to return it. I couldn't tell her that I had bought it at a yard sale for 25 cents.
Definitely a shining jewel of Quincy, IL. Came here with my wife for her birthday dinner. Reasonable wine selection. The bruschetta was delicious. Butter for the complimentary bread roll was soft. Absolutely loved the mushroom ravioli and the rigatoni mozzarella. Its namesake, for dessert, was fantastic— moist, flavorful, sweet. The portions were all appropriate. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff.
I have been wanting to go to Tiramisu for some time, I had heard so many good things. Well... We had a reservation, were seated quickly. Our server smelled of cigarettes, we ordered a drink, he brought the two beers and we had requested glasses. He set two mismatched glasses on the table and told us they were hot and he didnt want to take the time to cool them, he did not know the soup of the day. The table clothes had butcher paper over them,
The gentleman at the host desk was extremely helpful. They were very busy but he took the time to help me. I walked in off the street and asked if they did carry out. He helped me right away and once I ordered, I barely had to wait at all. The food was good. A good place to try for Italian food.
I’m from St. Louis and this place rivals any Italian restaurant on “the hill”. Hands down one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to in the USA. The prices are also very reasonable. There is a reason they are on a wait at 8:30 pm. I can’t wait until my next business trip to quincy, this place is a gem
wonderful place. came for our anniversary. first time at new location and more spacious and well lit! ordered special of sea bass and cooked perfectly! wine, italian food and great company. what is any better!
I did not enjoy a single thing here tonight. Ordered spaghetti and meat balls, and it was gross. Switched plates with my husband and had a ravioli in a pink sauce. Wasn't a fan of that either. Had dessert and it was way to heavy with the coco.Atmosphere was obnoxiously loud with drunks. Not going again.
Everything is delicious! The staff is wonderful and the view from the dining room is the best. I'm still giving 5 starts but it does get loud and can be hard to have a conversation.
Excellent food and service. Great considering it was New Years Eve, they were great.
Phenomenal food. Great dining experience! Wait was rather long, but they were busy so that's understandable!
