Food was good, service was good. Drinks were horrible. $8 for a milkshake and i dont know what is used to make them but it seems like water and maybe milk instead of actual ice cream. Neither of my kids would drink theirs and after tasting it, i understood why. Coffee was very bitter and burnt. Great food...but order a pop or somethin. Dont waste your time on anything else.
The food was absolutely awful. I would never recommend this place. Started off with soup that was beyond salty and was so thick you would think it had sawdust in it. The soda was all flat and when we told our server she just gave us a dirty look and said “oh, sorry.” When we got dinner all 5 of us were all disgusted with our meals. Bacon was hard as rock and couldn’t check it, French toast had no flavor, chicken fingers were greasy and still had the skin on them, taco meat was so glossy and greasy and dinner rolls were definitely expired. The glasses we got for water were dirty still. The decor and tables are all outdated and their attempt at remodeling was a fail. Paint all over the booths, walls falling apart, etc. The other positive reviews they received have to be from owners family and friends. Do NOT eat here.
Stopped for lunch. Service was friendly but the food left much to be desired. The gyro was ok and our reuben was below average. The potato salad was sour, and the cabbage salad was not so good! Cream of mushroom soap was so thick that you could hang wall paper with it.
First time back since new ownership and last time. It’s too bad the food used to be good. The waitress was great. But the food was not very good besides the soup. I wish I took the receipt since on the way home. The $60 price wasn’t adding up for 2 adult and 2 kids meals. But oh well live and learn. My suggestion is go somewhere else as it isn’t what it used to be.
Been coming here for years and years and years. This restaurant in Plainfield near me has to be one of the oldest businesses in town and or in the local area. Such a large menu with so many options. A little something for everyone's taste buds. Cost effective, large portions and a menu that is on point for all.
Was not impressed. We were hoping after new ownership it would have been better. Unfortunately we were not impressed. Ordered my steak medium well and it came out. Rare to slightly above that.
Do not go to this restaurant. Went there for the 1st time thinking it was a long established place in Plainfield and would have a nice meal the food was terrible. My daughter's Burger tasted like it was rotten. I wouldn't allow her to even take one more bite out of it. The waitress did not know what she was doing did not clear the table even after I asked her to.Couldn't eat any of the food and wound up spending $70 for food that we wound up bringing home and kept just in case we got sick and would have some evidence is to why that was.
A very unassuming place. Hard to believe that this place has been in Plainfield downtown for so long and I had never visited until 2021. A real hidden gem. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. There's also currently a Groupon available for this place that you might want to pick up if you'ree going. Really can't go wrong with this place.
The staff is so nice. My 4 year old son and I come in once a week for a breakfast date. He loves their pancakes and to sit right in front of the TV to listen to the music. They see him coming and bend over backwards to make him happy. Fantastic food and service always!
Larry's diner is a friendly service provider for a local business. I enjoyed having breakfast with them. I would say support your local business. They made an error on my order and they corrected it even though I had finished more than half of it since I questioned the order if it was what I ordered. They realized their mistake and gave me another entire order to take home at no extra charge. Now that's good service especially in the morning.
