My son got us lunch from Ming Shee yesterday. He ordered 3 full meals and some extras. Meals were great, and the portions were so generous that I needed to save part of mine to eat today!!! Our food was hot and delicious!!! My crab rangoon was the best I've ever had . Needless to say, we will definitely order from Ming Shee again, especially if they continue to have my all time favorite Pineapple chicken!!!!
This was my 2nd time dining in and I have also done takeout once. Exceeded expectations every time! I have had the peanut butter chicken, bourbon chicken, fried shrimp, crab rangoon, chicken wings, teriyaki chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken and chicken lo mein. I also tried their smoothies (one has to give a fair assessment by trying alot of menu items?) I agree with the rest of Peoria in naming this the best Chinese in town.
Best Chinese in Peoria, without a doubt. Extremely efficient and consistent. They also took COVID protocols very seriously but also stayed open for the duration. This is the only place I ever get Chinese food from. The Mongolian beef is FIRE.
They give a shortage depending on what size you order and if you're dining in or caring out. The small sweet and sour chicken was mostly bread, and 1 cube of pineapple. The cashew chicken is just that, full of cashews and veggies..
It's not that Ming Shee is pretending to be something that it is not, but this Chinese restaurant doesn't quite warrant the accolades and following that it has. (on that note, I suspect that most of its popularity comes from the Bradley crowd who are either unable or hesitant to venture out to other places)I am a big fan of General Tso's chicken and typically use that as my measuring stick for judging a new location. I was intrigued by the Dragon & Phoenix special which was General Tso's chicken with shrimp and decided to get it. What I received was the GTC with its sauce (more on that later) on one half of the container and a shrimp and veggie mix in it's own sauce on the other half. Was kind of expecting GT sauce on everything.Thankfully, there were no fatty chicken pieces. However they were all too "uniform" for my liking. (weird critique, I know, but I associate this with the difference between carbon-copy Mcnuggets made of ground-up mystery meat and natural chicken strips) And the sauce was just disappointing. I would've mistaken it for Orange chicken had it more flavor. (In fact, there were two large orange slices mixed in...again, wrong dish?) There was also no heat, despite the chili pepper icon on the menu. And yes, I'm aware that most Chinese takeout joints in America dial it down, but this almost seemed like false advertising. The other underwhelming item was the crab Rangoon. It looked kind of like a mini, geometrically-folded burrito and lacked the signature "crispy" texture you find with good crab Rangoon. Again, flavor was lacking. If you've actually read all of the above, this review may be seen as harsh. It's not meant to be... I'm just being honest. The TL;DR would be: acceptable option if you has no other alternatives; you won't really regret your decision, but don't expect to be wowed.
I saw all the reviews and thought yall knew what good Chinese food tasted like, I won't go back, I ordered the shrimp fried rice, tasted nasty to me, it was to much oil making it taste to greasy, no seasoning it tasted to plain, no egg in it and they really don't know its suppose to be a bit firmer not soft and greasy, nothing like Chicago or Wisconsin Chinese food, peoria need to step their game up and travel outside of peoria to know what good food taste like, just like j&j fish, they tell you they selling catfish but it's not, and they charge you 4 dollars more than in Chicago or Wisconsin and don't even have the early bird special, but I guess the saying is true, a good compliment means they can charge you more and serve you less so keep your reviews to yourself..
Nice interior with wooden chairs and tables and the walls decorated with oriental pictures and artifacts. The service is quick and pleasant. You can customize your dish, for example more or less spicy. I chose the Hunan Beef which had plenty of beef accompanied by broccoli and other vegetables in a spicy Hunan sauce. Very good and I would definitely recommend it
I called in on the weekend, and it was ready in 10 minutes. I ordered the strawberry smoothie, but it was a little bit on the sugary side. I can't speak on meat to vegetable ratio because I ordered just mixed vegetables. Overall, it was good food and great portion sizes.
First time trying this pace out. Ordered the General Tso's chicken. It came with a generous portion of chicken and broccoli with a bowl of rice. Everything was served hot and tasted fresh. The restaurant was clean and the food arrived to the table quickly.
Their Chinese is inexpensive for a reason. Their main dishes taste like they lack a lot of ingredients. Such as soy sauce or oyster sauce and even salt.Their flavors was my main problem. Had their mongolian beef and it was 90% vegetables instead of an equal mix with the beef. I had to add salt, ketchup or hot sauce for it to be better. In conclusion it was a bad experience for me, 2times and that's it. If you ever had authentic Chinese food, this is not a comparable place but a cheap alternative.
