The shrimp tacos lunch should really be called “$9 naked 2-shrimp taco”, devoid of any toppings or condiments. It is so sad how things have changed so drastically. Yikes!!!--Feb 22, 2021 – 5 stars.Today, I had the opportunity to taste that familiar flavor of comfort food, curry goat! Get yours while it's still available.--Jamaican food has landed in Peoria. Friends, you need to make a beeline to the Jerk Hut in Campustown. The jerk pork chop is out of this world, as are the collard greens, and rice with beans.John, I can't hardly wait for curry goat to make it back on the menu. Was very disappointed in this place. Was hoping for some good jerk food in the area. Instead I get chewy recooked shrimp, rice and veggies that you can easily tell it's from a steamer bag. Jerk chicken was rather flavorless. the only thing that tasted good was the spicy mac and cheese and my drink. For sure will not be going back. I'm all for supporting local businesses but not when you cant enjoy the food you came to eat...
Omgosh!!! Best service (thank you John and staff) and Omgosh I highly recommend the turkey leg and rice dish! Amazeballs! I cannot wait to go again for oxtails and every other thing on the menu! I love love love!
the chicken sandwich is more spicy than tasty and the yams arent sweet enough not much flavor on the almost congealed macaroni either
I ordered the Jerk Chicken with red beans and rice, mac and cheese, and candied yams. The food was excellent.Also, the vibe at Jerk Hut was great. People who knew eachother were talking and laughing. Even the customers talked to other customers. I liked the community vibe.
The food was still good but it wasn't great like I felt when you first opened. The Mac n cheese didn't taste the same and I wasn't impressed. I ordered greens but got cabbage instead . I'm pretty sure there using the red beans and rice for the base of the coconut shrimp and I don't remember that from the last time. Seemed different. I don’t know what happened. Loved this place in the beginning. It's still a lot better then other options but I just can't say I loved it or would be eager to go back this time. Darnt.

Sorry but I wasn't impressed. The sides where definitely out of a box, bag and or cans. I ordered The jerk oxtails with red beans and rice, reg Mac and cheese and collard greens. I knew when I tasted the greens they came out of a can. I would recommend atleast using glory greens and they were kinda tough. The Mac was definitely precooked and the red beans and rice had no taste at all. I gave 3 starts because the oxtails we're seasoned well and delicious. The customer service was good and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I probably wouldn't go back but everyone taste is different.
Well the food was cold!!! The lady on the phone was sooo damn rude ! Then had the nerve to hit on my guy after he left!! First time was good with the Alfredo but the pork chop sandwich was sooo damn dry and the yams were barely sweet and still hard. The chicken was soooooo dry! And the Mac had no flavor but was sprinkled with some type of spicy seasoning
I ordered the jerk ribs, rice & beans, mac n cheese & yams. The beans were HARD AF but the flavor of the rice & ribs were good.The yams weren't really that sweet but maybe they should've added more juice in the container for them. THE MAC N CHEESE WAS BLAND AF, I'M TALMBOUT NO FLAVOR AT ALL. Now I've had this same dinner from there at least 3x now & never, ever was it this bad. I seriously hope someone that works there sees this & other reviews like it & makes chances bc we really wanna keep supporting the business.
