Me and my husband went out to steak and shake this evening. And the lady sam there was an absolute sweet heart , our order had got a little messed up and she fixed it for us and even came out to make sure that everything was good . You don't come across to many good employees too often anymore . She is definitely a keeper . Thank you so much for being so kind .
Food was hot dinning inn, that's why they got 3 stars. The whole atmosphere is way off! We walked in and were not acknowledged at all. Zero Hey, Hi, head turn, nothing. We were the only people dinning inn. Place was dead. Womens bathroom was fithly, no paper towels, toilets were awful and the floors were extremely sticky. My husband said the men's smelled so strong of urine and urine all over the floor around the urinal. Most tables had food crumbs all over them. Drink station was sticky and messy, everything has been neglected for some time. Staff were talking and joking amongst themselves when they really should have been taking care of the lobby...Overall this place has just really went down the drain. This location needs a deep clean and customer service lessons.
Seems like most of the workers there have very poor work ethic ?. Nobody was nice, they don't greet you in a kind way, they almost act like they are just annoyed that you decided to come eat there. On top of that they have zero skills on apologizing that they are out of something nor will they apologize for any mistakes that were made with your order. Keep it up Pekin Steak n' Shake! ? I'm sure your going to have great business continuously doing what you do.
WHAT HAPPENED? I walk in and no waitress/waiters, no menus, you order via touch screen, and wait for your number to be called...this isn't Stake n Shake. Now it's just like any other fast good joint. Oh, and also no baked beans or cold slaw. I get that during Covid lock downs restaurants had to adjust but the whole point of Stake n Shake was someone waited on you.Perhaps if these corporations would just pay their staff and decent wage maybe the wait staff would have returned. Instead they fill the place with touch screens and make the customer feel like a number. I would have given 1 star but the few people working there were nice and the burger was fine.
I dont know how to accurately rate this visit. I was sooooo excited to learn this particular Steak & Shake was open for dine in. It has been over 2 years since I've had S&S and I was craving it so bad. I was in the area so my daughter and I decided to go. We were both giddy with excitement as we pulled into the parking lot. Walked in, and I thought I was walking into McDonald's, only in red, black, and white. Order off of a kiosk, wait till your order is called, pick it up off a tray....plastic utensils....no condiments on the tables....when you go up to ask for condiments or utensils, you have to practically go into the kitchen itself to find someone. I was absolutely put off by this. This is not the Steak & Shake I've known my entire life, I'm 42. I completely understand the covid situation but other restaurants have normal activity, waiters & waitresses...I just do not see this working for Steak & Shake. The whole atmosphere of the place was wrong and felt almost sad. Also, I was told I couldn't get a cherry coke. Half the reason I've always gone to S&S is the cherry cokes. If I wanted to get my own drink, I would go to McDonald's. Also, no salads. I loved Steak & Shakes 1000 Island dressing. It was unique. So much so that my Mom used to go in once a month a buy a bag of it so we could have it at home for salads.On a positive note....the food was great. My Chilli Mac and onion rings were hot and delicious. My daughter said her chicken fingers were awesome. The chocolate shakes were perfect!!! I loved getting to enjoy one of my favorite foods and drinks. Just wish it was still operating like they used to.
when you order cheese fries to go at the drive thru and pay for them that's what you expect. Having a manager scream all the way through the restaurant at a customer who came in for their cheese sauce is completely unprofessional and should be fired. I hope the customer that came in for their cheese sauce files a formal complaint.
This location used to be the best and now it's the worst. Completely messed up my order, definitely needs more organization. After several times of having issues I'll go elsewhere.
Sadly, I will never go back to Steak and Shake! I grew up going there and had always loved it, but this last visit was it for me. They no longer have wait staff and you have to go in and order your food on a computer. You then pick up your food when your number is called. This is staright up communist! This is shameful in the U.S!!!!!
Didn't give onion rings with drive through order. When trying to call to see if anything can be fixed on a potential next visit phone rang for 2 minutes.
I want to thank the young man taking out orders and busing table today at 1230. He was very nice and helped me with everything I needed. I am sorry I didn't catch his name.
