I always enjoy going to Spunky Dunkers when I am in the area. Their goodies are great and one of the bakers has a great sense of humor. Today was National Donut Day and it appears that a vintage car enthusiast also wanted a donut.
Spunky Dunkers Donuts is worth the trip for real homestyle cake donuts. Their flavors and selection are deliciously unique. We bought a dozen, split between Red Velvet, Double Chocolate and Blueberry. Employees are quick and friendly as we watched the efficiency of the kitchen and counter staff, as we waited for a fresh brewed cup of coffee. Our first time here, we were recommended a German chocolate donut and boy it was tasty! A perfect blend of chewy donut along with sweetness and crunch from the toasted coconut. The only problem I had wasn't with Spunky Dunkers Donuts... but with family, as they devoured them all as I left the box on the counter at home and didn't get a pic. Alas, Spunky Dunkers Donuts gets my nod for tasty, affordable "gourmet" donuts.

I like the selection they have. I always get a dozen when in the area. I know when I leave there are 12 in the box, but when I get home there's only 11? We live in the Elgin area.

Went today for Fat Tuesday "Pączki Day" to try out their style pączki. 10/10 omg some of the most delicious pączki I have ever had. It's definitely worth the drive from Chicago. Will be back again for more ??? Highly Recommend!!!
Love that their Paczkis are fresh all day. I also love that they do some with both a layer of fruit and a layer of cheese. They are excellent.
Now that I live in Wisconsin, it is very difficult coming here like I used to back in the day. But even when I am remotely in the area, I will always stop by and pick up a box of donuts to spread the Spunky love with all my peeps in Wisconsin!Out of all the donut places in Illinois and Wisconsin I have been to, this is by far the greatest place to go. The donuts are always fresh and have a flavor beyond any other stores capabilities in my opinion. If you happen to be in the area or even remotely in the area, stop by and grab a few, you won't be disappointed!
