I rate Donkey Inn a zero, last week me and my boyfriend African American walk in the restaurant and everyone stared like we were ghost. The hostess came to the front took us to the table area and the waitress just left us standing and didn’t give us menus or show us were to sit. We were just standing and it was so hurtful to know racism is so real. We asked if they did take out the hostess said yes very rude. We decided to leave. I have never experienced that type of feeling and I don’t want anyone else either. I was excited to go because of the great reviews and recommendation.Location in Palatine on Plum Grove road
I had passed by for many years but had never stopped in. I decided to give them a try one night when they had fried chicken for their special. I ordered the special which consisted of 4 pieces of chicken with waffle fries. Personally I only found the chicken to be ok. If I do visit again it's unlikely that I'll order the fried chicken.
Went here during lunch right before st. Patty’s day and saw that the corned beef was coming up. I got the Reuben and was not disappointed. It is a great atmosphere that I feel would be perfect for any occasion whether it’s a game during march madness or the super bowl or a business lunch like I had. The cheeseburgers here are excellent. Can’t say about much else other than that. I’ve eaten here a few times and always have been satisfied.

First time going to the original restaurant. Food and service were both excellent. Wish they had video games like their Algonquin restaurant.
An absolutely beautiful way to start the morning! This was my first time visiting I was greeted as family coming home for the holidays. I ordered a breakfast sandwich which was prepared to perfection.
Service was slow. Food was very good. Music was VERY loud. Difficult to hear others at the table. 1st time and it will be my last. IF you enjoy a very loud environment it would suit you. Not to my liking.
The food here is good and the prices are affordable. The menu has something for everyone. Wait staff is friendly.
Always love this place. It’s a good old neighborhood bar. You feel welcomed and comfortable which means their staff is top notch.The drinks are well poured and the food is fresh tasting and properly cooked. It doesn’t matter whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner - it’s good.
