I really like Billy's. They have a solid menu with a decent variety of options. They aren't just slinging burgers.That said, I'm most likely to get a hotdog with everything and fries.The dogs are exactly what a Chicago hotdog is supposed to be. Great snap, steamed bun, fresh toppings, including the sport peppers.For as good as the dogs are, their fries are just as good or better. They are crispy outside and soft/creamy inside with just the right amount of salt. perfect.Hey yourself over to Billy's if you're looking for a nice change to your lunch or dinner takeout routine.
I don't understand how this place has 4.5 stars. People don't know what good food is anymore.
Best fries, veggie and Cesar wrap ?? The owner is so nice as well. Have come for years and will always come back.
First time at Billy's and unfortunately my last?Burger wasn't cooked through all the way and our fries were drenched in oil. Was really hoping our experience was better?
Best burger place in town. I’ve been coming here for 10 years. Food has been great every time. Very dependable. Never had a single bad experience here
Easy to miss the specials board since customers waiting dor orders were standing in front of it. Too cluttered and busy at point of order for diest time visitors unless the counter person wants to help guide the culinary experience which wasnt the case on my day of visit.The patty melts best attribute was the bread that it was served on, which can doom a patty melt. Perfectly toasted and buttery. The negatives...the burger was HAMMERED, abd the onions had zero flavor and we're room temp. Obviously the onions were "caramelized" ahead (possibly days ahead) abd added nothing to the well done, dry, tasteless burger patty which dispiter its brown interior wasnt a hockey puck...possbly made in advance and reheated?Color me unimpressed.
Walked 25 minutes on a Saturday only to find that they were closed. It would be nice if they changed their hours on the internet to reflect what's posted on their door.
Definitely wouldn't know it from the outside but the inside has lots of cool decorations. They have a big menu with tons of options, the Maxwell street polish was great. I'll be heading back there for sure.
