I was taken here for my birthday outingFirst thing I noticed was the seating. Let’s just say I’m not one to complain but I felt segregated. Next I wanted French toast instead of pancakes. There was no accommodations or even suggestions for something else. Last I would’ve been charged 3 dollars just for bananas. It was just oh well can’t substitute. We felt so unwelcome and dissatisfied with our birthday brunch. Won’t go here again or suggest to friends
This food was really good. I didn’t realize they were only breakfast but this avocado toast was fresh and delicious. I ordered mine with no egg. The crepes were light and not too sweet.
The food is really good with some classic options! However the place is always crowded and the tables are really stuffed in there. Wish it was a tad more spaced out and have a bigger location! Now that the Panera is gone, hopefully they will buy the building out and expand.
To summarize, I would say that this location is a step above my favorites such as Huck Finn's and Stacked in Oak Lawn. The quality is much higher grade, although the previous mentions are good. Their corned beef hash is very unique and worth trying. Their steak omelettes are top notch, pancakes are well prepared. Even the toast seeps higher quality. They even allow full customizations of what you would want in a meal, omelette, etc.As of right now, they are my number 1 breakfast spot in this area although they might not be able to take places I had in the past such as Chicago Cut in downtown Chicago or definitely not Bellagio in Vegas. It does have a touch of this quality though.
Friendliest place to have breakfast especially when alone. Wonderful food.
Very good food. Excellent service.
Came to this location when they first opened. We were sat right away. Bathrooms appeared to be freshly cleaned.I ordered the Junior plate with a side of potatoes. As expected the food was amazing. Our only complaint is we had to wait a bit fit for our server to come and take our drinks and order.
Best breakfast place in the area hands down. Coffee is great, and they actually offer real cream with it. Not the cheap plastic cup containers like every other place. Pancakes are amazing. My favorite is the skillets. They use real cubed potatoes and not the hashed kind. Maybe a matter of preference but they don’t have the prepackaged skillet taste like many other breakfast places. Oh and the bacon is a little expensive but is thick and crispy. Not those cheap flimsy pieces you get elsewhere. As for service it can be busy depending on when you go. Generally never had a problem with service. Friendly staff and always keep your coffee hot. Weekends at 9-10am is probably gonna be peak so expect it to be slower. It’s busy because it’s an awesome breakfast place.
My husband and I love the Original House of Pancakes in Orland Park. We have been going to this restaurant faithfully for over 35 years. We started at the restaurant on Western Avenue, then Oak Forest and now Orland Park since it opened. We have been going with a group of our friends once a week for over 10 years. Then we also go ourselves another once or twice a week. The food is consistently excellent. They use the finest ingredients. The coffee is the best in the area. The service is tremendous. The servers are friendly and nice and even try to call you by name. There rarely is a problem with the food; but if there is a mistake, they take care of it immediately without question. If you’re looking for a great breakfast place, this is it!
Great Service! I have been coming here for years for breakfast. Chicken Sausage and Eggs with Pecan Pancakes are my go to when I just want something simple.
