Been to other roasters in the Chicagoland area including the city and this place stacks up with the best I’ve had if not the best. Their Break A Leg and Killer Diller beans are so soooo good. Don’t sleep on this place

Good coffee but no dog friendly patio means we’ll walk over to Brewpoint instead. Please keep us updated if y’all change your policy.Edit: thanks for your thoughtful reply, I’ll definitely plan to chat some day when we don’t have our dog with us.

We love whirlwind. I dare you to find freshly roasted coffee beans with as much care and respect for the community as Whirlwind. We need more coffee shops and cafes like Whirwind—local, fresh, and community focused.

Whirlwind is great! Excellent coffee, roasted on site, and a tasty selection of baked goods. Super friendly staff and a cozy and quiet outdoor space as well. Proceeds go to local charities. One of my favorite local coffee shops!

Excellent fresh coffee in bulk as well as a full coffee bar. Array of sweet and savory tests to go with your coffee. Some seating inside and a large patio outside including a tent with heat lamps.

Excellent coffee. Freshly roasted beans, their Single Origin Colombian made a very tasty espresso, good fruitiness to it. The gal up front was very helpful, knowledgeable and got me beans that had been roasted within the past week. Highly recommended if you want the best beans available in the Berwyn/Oak Park area.

Fantastic addition to the neighborhood. Excellent coffee, great service and indoor/outdoor seating areas. You can find a lot of great coffee shops in Oak Park but IMHO their pour overs and espressos are the best. This place has a regular customer!

Truly excellent coffee, very reasonable prices, and warm/welcoming staff. It's honestly hard to imagine anyone not liking Whirlwind as a whole, and the fact that their roasts really are some of the best in the area just solidifies the experience. It's admittedly coffee-lover's shop in that the drinks on offer are very much the traditional selection (e.g. cortado, flat white, macchiato, cappuccino, etc.), so if what you're after is a huge array of sugar and milk-laden coffee "beverages" a la Starbucks, this probably isn't your scene (though they do have a couple, FWIW). But unlike big chains, there's a real owner/roaster to talk shop with, and their espresso roast actually makes for a good shot (most of the time I go with a double espresso and it's sublime). If you like good coffee, good atmosphere, and supporting a local business that treats employees well *and* also happens to donate all net profits to charity, well this is as good as it gets.

This is a favorite meeting spot for my friends and I. Their coffee is great! They roast their own beans in the back. The staff is so friendly. I have a 3 month old baby and feel totally comfortable bringing her which I can’t say for most coffee shops.I hope they expand their indoor sitting area so more people can hang out. They also have an outdoor patio area!

This is an excellent coffee shop, where they roast their own beans. They have a great indoor space, and even better outdoor patio. The staff has always been helpful. They also have a great mission: donating net profits to charity. If you're looking for a bag of beans to go, I recommend the Killer Diller. This is a wonderful addition to the community.
