If you want cheap this is not the place. Reminded me of restaurant when on vacation in Mexico. I loved it. Friendly, helpful, and food is amazing. I have visited several times its really good.
Very good, chicken with burrito bowl is a little salty...love the margaritas to go in a bottle! Refried beans perfect!! All menu items a little too pricey!
Best food experience I have ever had in the Illinois area! From top notch amazing service down to the delicious authentic food l. Tacos 76 has a way of making you feel invited and part of a true culinary community, from its traditional takes on amazing Mexican dishes to the innovative beverages found at its bar. This is definitely THE spot to find the best platters and drinks around the Chicagoland area! This is literally the taste of little village found throughout the whole Chicago suburbs
Found this place as i biked around for local spots. Their decor reminds me for the Mexico 86 team with the font and colors. Now down to the tacos. I order three tacos, Asada, Al Pastor, and Fish. The asada was good but nothing different or special but still very good. The Al Pastor was extremely flavorful and delicious.. nice marinated and moist, topped of with cilantro, cebolla, and pineapple accompanied the red salsa, perfection. The fish tacos must be ordered in a pair which makes me wonder if the fish being served is just a frozen protein dropped in the the fryer, but i could be mistaken. The fish taco was good, just wish the sauce was a bit spicier. Topped off with slaw that wasnt too cold made the taco perfect.
Really good! We ordered all the tacos and the best was the Al pastor followed by the fish tacos. Well seasoned, good salsa, good proportions, nice crunch on the fish tacos. Tacos 76 would sell well in San Diego!
What a fantastic taco spot! Owner Carla and her crew are doing everything right. The tacos are delicious (gotta try the asada) and the margaritas are strong and perfect. I will be back and you should too!
Tried this with a friend for the first time last week. The tacos were fresh and delicious we both loved what we ordered. I got the fish tacos and the poblano pepper taco I think.. so good!! ?? Finally a taco place near us that we really like. Will definitely be coming back!
Just went on a little "taco tour" as we noticed there are a bunch of new taco places in town. This place was excellent! The vibe was, as the name suggests, 1970s taco truck-ish. The staff was very friendly and thoughtful. The seating simple and efficient. The tacos were some of the best I've had. In particular was a hibiscus flower. The flowers have a meaty texture which is excellent and there is a red sauce which is rich with roasted peppers, but not overly spicy. The pork taco was very flavorful, there was a crispness to the sliced meat and the toppings, starting with onions and cilantro, were good as well. I highly recommend!
My first impression walking in, was that the place was definitely put together well, seating and decor. This has got to be the cleanest taco joint i have ever been to... i mean spotless. Definitely makes you feel good. I got three tacos. chicken, pastor, and carne asada. On the side I got chips and guacamole with the house sangria. So the chicken was dry, easily fixed with the salsa and good flavor, but noticeably dry. The pastor was a bit sweet for my taste, but good. The steak was totally awesome, juicy, full-on flavor and definitely what I will have from now on. The guacamole was above average, and the sangria was good, but a really small serving for the price... probably the only true negative. Definitely would recommend this place for a sit down lunch or to go.
I love, love everything about this place. Their food is excellent. I'm very happy I don't have to make the drive down to other burbs for authentic excellent Mexican food. I've always had the best and friendliest service friendly there. This is probably my 6th visit by now. I've ordered take out and dined in as well. I've tried the tacos, quesadillas, tortas and so far they have all been very tasty. I'm happy with the prices and portions thus far. I'm excited to work my way to the burritos & the bowls on my next visits. I had a lime margarita on one of my visits & it was one of the best ones I've had. Also recently tried the watermelon margarita and I just had to order another one :). Its on the smaller side but priced right & accordingly IMHO. It's become my go to for casual Mexican food. Overall, I would give it 10 stars if I could.
