Unlike the unprofessional staff (Tamia) on Taylor Street in Chicago... I was welcomed with a smile and greeted with enthusiasm by Bradon. I finally got my Chicken Pot Pie Soup and my Chicken Sandwich. My food was hot, fresh, tasty and served with a smile. I even received a spoon, napkins and crackers without having to ask. AFTER my horrible ordeal on Taylor St with Tamia (Manager) I swore I would NEVER patronize another Potbelly. BUT as they say NEVER say NEVER. OR MAYBE because I'm NOT in Chicago and I was in Oak Park made the difference. Thank You Brandon for exemplifying what a GREAT POTBELLY WORKER SHOULD DO, ACT AND PERFORM. I had a great experience today at Potbelly in Oak Park. You restored my confidence and my palette.
I arrived at Potbelly Lake St. (Chicago) location 11AM a staff member told me they would not be open today until 11:30AM (there is a note on the door) ok I waited 30 minutes in my car until 11:30AM I walk in to get in line the cashier told me to check to right for grubhub/online order I inform her that I am ordering to go. Cashier responds, “We are not open until 11:30AM…” I tell her it’s 11:30AM now she proceeds to tell me “she’s not ready yet…” horrible customer service. I waited patiently for the doors to open at the time that was posted on the door for someone to be rude & unapologetic with a notice posted on this establishment stating opening today at 11:30AM
Worst place ever! This was the 3rd and last time there. Each time has been horrible service and ruined orders. I'm done! This last time, I was treated so rudely and mean by the order taker for no reason. He behaved so volatile and angry. Barking at me, rolling his eyes at me etc. It was very unsettling. I continued to be nice to him for safety sake. I reported this to the on-site manager but he blew me off. I should have just left. Plus when I got home, the sandwiches were burnt. Will never go there again.
I ordered a cuban but I got an entirely different sandwich. I looked up the ingredients that they put on it and it was a sandwich that didn't even exist. They might have came in my sandwich too.
I ordered a Cubano but they either gave me the wrong sandwich or were feeling creative and felt like freestyling. They put some ingredients in it that I was allergic to but I didn't notice since it was smushed and I didn't taste it. I am now having a severe allergic reaction to it.

The workers in the restaurant are extremely rude. They were unorganized and mixed up the orders of the sandwiches . When I told them my correct order the African American girl short with reddish brown curly hair began to rudely yell at me the type of order she placed for me. She went back and forth with me yelling at me when the manager had to tell her to stop. I have lived in Oak Park for 26 years supporting potbelly but after this experience I will not. My 8 year old daughter said immediately, “mom lets not come here anymore, we can go to the one on North Ave. The workers need some serious training in customer service and time management.
This place is woah horrible! I’ve worked in food service for years and the people who run your line are extremely rude the only one I see working hard is the African American girl in the soup station! The starter had such a bad attitude and the topping man to! Totally killed my afternoon vibes. Positive and welcoming employees is what this place needs, This was my first time and never again if you don’t like working for food service then baby get yourself another job!
I just called at 12:55 on 1/11/2022 to place a order and she rudely said that we don’t take call in orders Over the phone. I have been to thousands of potbelly and worked at one. This is not true. Get better customer service
One day this location got a new point of sale terminal and started asking for tips. I typically go here to save money since it is not a sit down restaurant. So I didn’t tip for a pickup. Next thing I know me and my wife are super sick from these sandwiches. Coincidence? I don’t know. But I won’t be going here again and you have been warned.
