First time at Hecho en Oak Park and stooped in for their highly recommended margaritas... Space feels like a small cantina with a handful of tables and bar area. Margaritas are priced accordingly with four flavors to choose from as well as two specialty margaritas. We ordered strawberry and pineapple, cucumber and a mezcalucha. They are tasty and refreshing. Mezcalucha smokey and strong. Caught a Mexican flan (Natilla) for dessert, definitely for the sweet tooth in all. Place was good, seemed a bit short staffed in a Monday.
Very good, but not exceptional tacos. Order of deliciousness: carne asada > al pastor > pollo. Chips also very good, but not Donkey level. Four types of salsa came with chips, which was nice, basic red salsa was the best (and had some heat), smoky roasted tomato one decent, tomatillo just okay, pico with pineapple pretty good, would have been helped by a better quality tomato. Would eat again.
It was our first time eating inside the restaurant and we lived it! We tried a few different margaritas and my favorite was between the cucumber and the strawberry margaritas with the coconut coming in at a close 2nd! The food was great, I really like that they give you an option for the rice and beans as a family style portion so people get what they need and you don't Iverson order. The tacos were do good too!! We loved everything especially the staff, they were friendly and gave good recommendations too. It's going to be our go to spot now that we're moving to Oak Park this Summer!!
Small cozy dinning area, service was great and fast. we stayed till closing. 9pm. Lots of yummy tacos, al pastor, shrimp, fish the best. Guacamole best I've had. Margaritas must have, my fav strawberry coconut, or raspberry,
The food was great! The Margaritas are a must! I tried the coconut margarita and it was delicious! Be careful one is enough unless you are heading out. Overall great service and food. If you are in town i would definitely stop by.
This has got to be my go-to taco place in Oak Park. Food is great, slightly more expensive than your usual tacos for the portion size, but they are well seasoned and prepared. Guac is good. Tacos are good. There aren't very many tables but this typically is not an issue. The small size of the space is made up for by the big taste of the food.
Delicious food with vegetarian options and awesome margaritas. It’s a small place so I’m really glad that they carded me for our vaccination status
The food is good and prepared fast but portions are too small for the price. I paid for the 16 oz size rice and hardly any was in the box, so I weighed it (see photo) barely 9 oz. Also, the guacamole and chips was $8.50 and the tiny box of guac is less than a cup.
For the very first time, I visited this location. I was looking for some place to eat and I saw this while I was in Oak Park. First thing is that this is a clean and colorful place. The paintings and decors were lovely that really gives a Mexican vibe. This is basically a Mexican restaurant and they have a pretty wide selection of different Mexican foodies in their menu. The staff they have here was nice, friendly and accommodating too. It is also a small spot but there is a lot of tables inside so I decided to dine in instead of carry out. The service is quite fast and I only ordered a few including some tacos and elote. I ate the elote first and it was so good, I could taste every single ingredient they put in the corn that makes it really good and honestly it is kind of messy to eat but every bite is definitely worth it because it was flavorful and so good. Moving on with the tacos, they served nice and perfect portions on each taco that I ordered and everything was delicious, fresh and just basically great. I love their food and all in all the place and I will definitely be back if ever.
Excellent tacos ? and we loved the cucumber margaritas! Chips and salsa too!Nice warm and cozy place!
