I had a waffle with two scrambled eggs and about a half dozen sausage links for $13.50. My friend, a regular, suggested this place. Very pleasant, good service, quick food to the table. Somebody was always filling my coffee cup. (They could use larger cups and fill them up less often. Or maybe I just drink too much coffee.) My friend is a regular and I was an out of towner. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I thought it was a bit pricey, but I don't live in Oak Park.
I see a lot of investors go into research everyday on what to invest in. I was like that few months back. completely confused and don't know which direction to go in terms of investment. i came across the review online that changed my life. I decided to invest my first $2000 with Mr. Ethan Payne who helped me trade and made a profit of $10,000 Within a few days. from then on, the rest is history. His great skills in Forex and Crypto trading made good profits for so many in their trading account. I was amazed how many Investors wrote good comments about him. I earned a very good profit and made my withdrawal successfully and directly to my bank account. I'm on my third investment with him now and I am very happy to have met Mr. Ethan. I now earn good profits working at home, all thanks to him. I know this is inappropriate but this is my little way of showing gratitude and appreciation to him. George's Family Restaurant is the perfect place for breakfast or lunch. Truly one of the last real diner's in Oak Park. Amazing cooks, attentive staff and friendly greetings at the door. Menu is filled with breakfast favorites from simple toast and eggs to fruit based crepes. It's easy to pass over mainstays like waffles, corned beef hash and my favorite; 3 eggs, French toast and sausage. Kids will love the generous whipped cream and smiley pancakes. Adults will enjoy endless cups of coffee and hustling waitstaff. Saturday and Sunday's are busy so get there before 10 am to avoid the crowd. Weekend brunch, weekday lunch or just need to do work is no problem at George's Family Restaurant.
We waited an incredibly long time, as other diners that arrived later than us got their food before us. Then, our orders were consistently messed up, and the hash browns were unseasoned, and the eggs were unedible. As we were walking in to wait for a table, the other diners were quite rude. When we got our bill, we got an incorrect bill double the amount that we needed to pay. It honestly felt a tad bit racially motivated. Not a great environment, and when we went to pay, the man there tried to charge me more money than the food I bought was. Then, according to him, we needed to pay ten extra dollars because we were splitting the bill.
My experience at george’s was awful. Half of my group where people of color and we felt as though our service was drastically different because of it. My party had to wait at least 20 minutes compared to the other white patrons around us, and when our food finally arrived it was inedible and disgusting. Then at the end of our meal we received the wrong bill, and when receiving the correct bill and attempting to pay the owner of the restaurant tried to swindle us out of cash when paying!! Saying “give me ten dollars because it’s all messed up the way you’ve done it now”. Our experience with staff, was extremely unprofessional and racially motivated. Definitely will not be coming back.

Friendly staff. Extensive menu, especially breakfast.
My family and I used to love coming to George's. It deeply saddens me that used to is the key element. On JANUARY 3, 2022, we were met with distain from this restaurant. My question is do the staff hate black people or people in an interracial family? Despite being seated before many others, we were ignored and served only when other guests were addressed. We had both a chef and a waiter do nothing our entire stay but look at us with venomous eyes. And a bill that suspiciously costed more than a family of five out of lunch. As I previously mentioned it saddens me deeply how closed minded our world continues to be. As much as my family and I used to love this place, serving as one of our regular spots for years, I cannot in good conscience support a restaurant and/or staff that do not treat every guest with kindness and respect, qualities that should be a basic human right. The question remains, can any of you?
Breakfast food is great, but the other items on their menu are usually just mediocre and come out looking hastily-made. Service is polite and usually fast unless it's extremely busy like it can get some mornings. Highly recommended if you're in the mood for a nice diner breakfast.
I specifically requested on my online order of a denver omelette. " Please do not scorch the eggs. " I guess the cook took offense. It seems he deliberately went out of the way to burn the omelette...on both sides. It was inedible. Dont bother trying to call the phone . You get a busy signal. I never had George's treat me like this before. Very disappointed.
