Excellent waffles! Wonderful neighborhood vibe! Light and airy Indoor seating area. Outdoor seating is offered as well. Staff was very pleasant.
It moved across the street, so find it on the corner of Oak Park Ave & Van Buren
Sadly I’m updating this. This used to by my favorite coffee shop. The coffee is delicious. I’ve had the waffles, the muffins, the egg sandwiches, the scones and i loved them all. Sadly after the pandemic they lost a lot of their employees and this new set of employees is not great. They don’t do things very efficiently and thus it’s been a wait of 20+ mins every time i go. Once i just ordered a black pour over which is probably the easiest fastest drink to make and i waited 15 mins and then they asked me what i ordered and then started making it. It sucks because i love their coffee and food but the service is making me go to dunkin which I’m not happy about. I’ve tried calling ahead so i could just pick it up and two of the times i did this i still had to wait and one time they didn’t answer and sent me to voicemail after i called again.
They have the best Honey Vanilla Latte that I've ever had!
I’m glad my girlfriend and I decided to stop at this spot. The place is so cozy, love the decor and also really liked how they are supporting local artists by having their items on display so anyone can buy. The coffee was one of the best I had in a while and the egg sandwich was yummy!
Recently had a brunch date here, & definitely will return for another one! My date had avocado toast & I had the salted caramel waffles.. we both shared & enjoyed every bite. Latte & smoothies were also rich with flavor, very tasty! The staff was extremely nice & attentive! Small, cozy, quiet, place. Exactly what we were looking for! I was also able to get some work done on my laptop, as other customers were also on theirs. Can't wait to return on a spring or summer morning!
took way too long to write a review for this place. Come here all the time - they have fantastic coffee and waffles and the owner is great. The cayenne mocha with oat milk is my favorite!!
Not really a great experience. Came in, the employees were really nice, the menu looked great, it was cute and cozy, we were super excited to try this place. Friend ordered the lavender honey and cheese toast and a coffee drink. Her toast was absolutely disgusting. The "honey" was just water. It ran right off the bread and dripped everywhere. We threw it out. It's not real honey FOR SURE. Then they gave her the wrong coffee. Sigh. I got the right coffee at least, and my coffee was good. I would not come back though given that the food was bad, and despite them not having many customers and we sat in front the entire time they managed to bring out the wrong drink.
My family loves coffee and tea from Addis Cafe. We tried their waffles and a avocado sandwich and they are also tasty. Their Ethiopian pop up night is our family's special night as well. One thing I did not like was that they served food in the disposable dishes even when we dined at the restaurants. I think this is the right time to take more environmental friendly actions to preserve our planet.
The latte I had this morning hit the spot! It was the right temperature and the flavor balanced well. I look forward to coming back again to try some of the food selections - looked like the right amount of sweet/savory options, with vegetarian selection as well. COVID safe. Beautiful artwork on the walls.
