I was looking forward to eating at this place but was disappointed. The staff was friendly. I felt like the order was too expensive for the burgers for not to be cooked right. I was on my lunch break so I didn’t even bring it to anyones attention because I didn’t have enough time. The shake and fries were amazing though.
This was my first time ever trying Shake Shack. I visited the Oak Lawn location for lunch a couple weeks ago. This location is fairly new (opened within the past year or so).I got the Avocado Bacon Chicken sandwich (thick and tasty), fries (crispy and golden) and a Chocolate Churro Shake (so... So... GOOD. Like amazingly impressive, at least to me). The shake is a new flavor and I'm not sure how long it'll be there.Additional doting on the shake... My dining partner, who isn't big on desserts, also liked the shake very much. It's cinnamon churro frozen custard, spiced dark chocolate sauce, and cinnamon waffle cone crumbles. There were crumbles in like every sip took. That may or may not be your thing, but it was muy bien to me.As you can see, there's a covered outdoor patio area you can eat at, which is pretty cool. For more pics and restaurants check out @southside_Chicago_food
Decided to try this spot out. I wasn't all that impressed. The food wasn't bad, but I've had better. What bothered me the most was the warmness off the food I ordered. I got the impression the food was cooked to order, so when I picked up my order, I was a little surprised to learn nothing was hot. Everything was just...warm. Even the drink was warm...like it was poured at room temp and had ice added to it to chill it. Given how much the meal cost ($20+ for a burger, fries, and drink) I just expected a better experience. Not sure of it's that location or the norm with the chain. The place did have a chill vibe, but I wasn't all that impressed with the food. I don't want to shut the door on this place on one experience, but I don't see myself trying it again any time soon.
Came here on Mother's Day and bought $50 worth of burgers. The avacado bacon burger was disappointing - it was literally a shaving of an avacado piece that was hard. The sauce was supposed to be on there too and that was a droplets worth. I tried ordering online and the system wasn't working so I went in to order. It wasn't that crowded and it took 25 minutes to wait for 4 burgers to go.
I should've checked the reviews before coming here but at least I can say that I tried Shake Shack. The food quality is good but the price point is high. I dined in with my daughter who barely eats but hey, we thought we were pulling up to a fancy restaurant and when we walked in I was surprised. We weren't greeted! I realized after standing in the wrong place that I needed to go to the "kiosk" to order our food (the main door had signs that stated out of order). The setup is cafeteria chic I guess, you place your order and when it's ready you get a text to pick it up. As I stated before the food quality is good but for 2 people $40 isn't cheap. I also wanted to tip the guy who cleaned the tables he was nice, so I hope that the staff are paid well. Also the blood orange citrusade was great and the pickles are good ?
Delicious and well made burger! I agree with many of the reviews here, around the ratio of portion size to price. But none the less it's delicious!
Food is delicious, as always. They had wine and beer options, which surprised me - I've only been to Shake Shack locations in the Loop previous to this, which don't have those. I didn't sit outside this time, but I'm excited to come back when it's warmer and try the outdoor seating area, which looked very nice.
Dissatisfied….. Highly Dissatisfied! This was my first visit and I won’t return. The burgers are Wendy’s dollar menu patties. The are the exact same size and taste, so I’m confident they must have the same suppliers. With the cost of the burger I expected it to taste well, and it did not. The food was, hot but for some odd reason they had the air conditioning going, so it was freezing in the restaurant. It’s about 10 degrees outside and the ceiling fans are blowing on the patio.I paid $31 for 2 small cokes, a small shake and two small burgers. My mother did say the strawberry shake was delicious, so at least one part of the meal was good.On a good note the staff members are personable and polite.
The burger was so thin that it was like I was eating peppers on a bun. They put so many red peppers on it that they overpowered the taste of the burger. The cheese was not hot on my bacon n cheese fries so it was clumped on it and I couldn't really eat them. They should have started the cheese earlier and told me it wasn't ready instead of giving me that. The shake was so thick that I couldn't drink it until 15 mis after I ate the burger. It was not worth the price at all.
Long wait times but excellent food.the way they have a person as expo to get the food out quicker is a great way to minimize wait times. Excellent food especially the cheese on the cheese fries
