6 months ago this was the best steak taco place around oak lawn. Recently they upgraded their steak which is worse now. On top of it the prices are crazy 3 steak tacos for like 14.50$. I can go get a full combo meal for less... I’d still pay the price for them to go back to their old steak.
OMG! THESE ARE THE BEST TACOS IN THE AREA! The tortilla is soft and warm, the meat is perfectly seasoned and the salsas are just unbelievable. It’s like a foodgasm in my mouth. The torta was filled with deliciousness I couldn’t resist. Will be coming back for more! Highly Recommend
It's hit or miss with this place. Sometimes the food is bomb & other times not so much. I said I would try again but after this last time I don't think I'll be back. Not quite sure how they prepare nachos but this time my nachos looked old, they used shredded cheese this time instead of nachos cheese & my chips were very stale. I was very disappointed as they're not consistent with the way food is prepared.
I had the picadillo taco combo with rice and beans as well as the nachos with no meat. Oh my gosh I am always looking for authentic and delicious Mexican food and this is one of my new fave spots! Tacos were packed with meat, they did NOT skimp. And meat was so flavorful and the corn tortillas (you can choose flour also) were slightly crispy which is the best! Beans and rice were cooked perfectly and such a nice addition to the tacos. The nachos were not soggy which is hard to do! The guac was FRESH and you could totally tell. I also got the horchata and it was so delish and not too sweet. Go here for authentic Mexican and great quality food. You will not be disappointed!
I saw burrito in the name of the restaurant and was compelled to order a steak burrito. The steak is so tough, it is inedible. Parts of the meat are burnt. I paid $13 for this, which is expensive, but what a waste. I asked for a side of sour cream - they asked if I wanted a small one and I said yes, for the burrito. They were charging $1.50 for an individual sour cream. No other customers were there and I see why.
They get one star for their welcoming attitude but, that’s it. The food is overpriced and not good. On the website a Chimichanga dinner is said to be 9 to 10 dollars. I get there and was charged $18.65 for the dinner. I’ve never been charged this much for a fried burrito ever. I threw about 3/4 of the dinner in the trash. I just wanted to try this restaurant. NO other restaurant in the area have ever charged that much for the same thing. I definitely won’t be returning!
I used to love this place! But today I had the worst experience ever! My whole order was wrong after I repeated my order like 5 times. There was this girl that supposedly was helping the cashier to rung up my order but she wasn’t listening she asked the same thing over and over! I won’t go back again. Also the whole menu change and they increased prices ?
I have been on a long and exhaustive search for the best South Side burrito joint.I am sure I may have found it.I ordered a steak burrito suizo at Big Burrito and it hit the mark. The steak was good quality meat, not all fatty or gristle. It was a good size, and the beans and rice were well prepared. Included in the dine in meal was a tray of tasty Tortilla chips, with a variety of sauces. Give the place a try.
The food is bland and soggy. We purchased two tacos on Taco Tuesday, a burrito guacamole and Pico which was over $30. The price wouldn't have been bad if the food was good. They gave us only 24 chips total for both dips. This explains why there are soooo many Taqueria's because everyone can't cook. What a waste of money and time. We will never eat here again. I wish I could give minus ⭐. Don't take a chance, this place is horrible!!
Got a Prime Rib Torta the meat was god awful ? It was dry and some pieces was hard...my first time there and didn't read the menu well...didn't know they had Torta Dinners...I asked could I make it a dinner and was told yes...was charged and extra 4 almost 5 bucks and got a small scoop of beans and rice...which would have came with the "dinner" had I ordered it in front...So I ended up spending 15 bucks for a Torta that was not tasty at all...The Prime Rib Torta is 8.99? Never again?
