I really want to give this place 5 stars - I really do. Don’t get me wrong the food here is amazing - I love the fried chicken and the spicy buckwheat noodles. But my main issue has always been with the service. The first time I came here the service was super great. After that it’s been worse. They bring everyone around us the bean sprout soup to start except us. When I asked about it the waiter said they “ran out.” We have to call someone to take our order since they don’t come up to us. Once we get our food the wait staff never checks on how we are doing/ if we need anything. As someone who’s been a server before, this just isn’t how I would treat customers, while still expecting a good tip. No goodbye/ thank you when we leave either. I’ll keep coming because the food is that good. But I wish they treated my mom and I better when we come. I don’t know if it’s because we are always the only white people in the restaurant but it seems to me like they treat everyone else better.Hope it is better the next time I come.

The food is on point! They do offer the true Korean spicy level! Too bad we can only try two dishes! We are definitely coming back! One thing to complain, some seats are not very comfortable.

GREAT service and atmosphere. This place is cozy and fast. Highly recommended! Love it!

Hands down the best Korean Pocha I've been to. Wish it wasn't an hour away, but I can't wait to go again! The 닭똥집 is soooooooo good.

Awesome Korean restaurant! Everything's great. The whole fried chicken, bulgogi, army stew, kimchi pancake, jokbal -- we had a feast! Also GREAT service and atmosphere. Highly recommended!

It was crowded on a Friday night. The staff had to push together two tables for my group of six people. It would be nice if we were seated at a larger table that can hold all of us and all the food we ordered. I felt like our space was limited since we ordered a lot of food to share. I don't think this is a good spot for large groups on a busy night, but it's fine for smaller groups and dates.I thought the menu was extremely pricey. However, I gave a four-star rating because the food was shockingly good. Every time I took a bite at a new dish, my eyes widened in disbelief at how delicious it was. We ordered the market chicken, bossam, spicy pork, seafood pancake, rose tteokkbeokgee, fried rice, beer, soju, and wine. The only dish I did not like was the fried rice because it was incredibly spicy. Everyone at my table thought it was way too spicy even though we are all Asian and can tolerate spicy well.My favorite dish was the rose tteeokkbeokgee and the seafood pancake. My boyfriend liked the market chicken and spicy pork. The rose tteokkbeokgee was creamy, sweet, spicy, and maybe cheesy. It reminded me of vodka pasta. It was a cool twist to traditional tteokkbeokgee and I'm glad we decided to give it a try.I wish they offered kimchi instead of the cabbage with mayo and ketchup. I liked that the tables comes with free beansprout soup.

Now this is different, we have tried many traditional Korean spots and BBQ places but not so much Korean pub grub. You can tell that the interior decor are very different, it feels like this could turn into a karaoke after hours. While main stream Kpop videos are playing from the projector on the far wall, this is far from an actual pub since there isn't really that big of a drink list. We have never been to an actual Korean pub before so we cannot speak to the authenticity, so we will just rate this against traditional and modern Korean cuisines. The food is good and on point mostly, service was fast considering we were the first table. The flavors were there, the spice was on the light side for sure and so was the taste, it was the first time I felt like asking for a salt shaker in a Korean restaurant. Korean food is famous for its flavors and spice, and especially for pub food, the food should be fatty, salty and spicy because it has to go with beer and shoju. You don't see people pounding beers over a salad. The TBK was not spicy at all, the sauce was very sweet though, like Bulgogi sweet. The accompanying nori wrapped vermicelli tempera and dumplings were really tasty though. The brisket and bean sprout had no complaints but definitely needed more salt. The same for the beef intestines, perfectly prepared but needs some salt!!! Even the dipping sauce which is supposed to be garlic, onion and Jalapeno infused, was very light. We will come back and try the hot pot before completing our assessment of this place. Over all, the quality of the food is good, but surely I will bring a salt shaker with me next time.

The whole friend chicken here is great. It has a faint taste of the batter you get on the fried shrimp strip you get at Korean grocery stores, which is very tasty! Service is great and like the layout and overall feel of the place.

If they serve side dishes it will be perfect

Here is the best Korean pub in Chicago I've ever been to :-) Good foods with great service! Couldn't be better ;)
