Great lunch menu and specials. Prices are great for cook county and food is quite good. Whether it be their pizza or their hot dogs or their Italian beef or their chicken parmesan, they are all good to great.Only reason I did not give it 5 stars was that interior of restaurant was a bit run down. Not terrible but could use a redecorating or at least a coat of paint.Otherwise this place is a treasure in the area for lunch. Would bet dinner is good too.
Food is not good here.. Also overly priced food for cheap quality fast food... In the window is displayed Vienna Hot Dog sign... I ordered 2 hot dogs that were not even close to what a Vienna Hot Dog tastes like...didn't even look like a Vienna Hot Dog... The fries were crinkle fries that literally tasted liked they came from Walmart frozen food section. Another time I ordered a Chicken Parmesan sandwhich. Chicken patty was a frozen Chicken Patty meat that they microwaved... Not good .. Go somewhere else to eat better quality made and cooked food.. I won't eat here again...
Every Thursday we have a Italian beef day with my friends and the only place that satisfies our craving is Marisa’s! We have gone here for over 15 years now and love it! Italian beef special garlic bread with cheese and hot peppers is amazing. It beats most of the others Italian beefs out there!
The Pizza is OK but the dinners are all good. My favorite is the Eggplant Parm, wether it's the Sub or the dinner.
I work nearby and after a coworker said that they had a better Italian beef than Portillos, I had to see for myself.I went there for lunch and lucked out and caught the Thursday lunch special which was an Italian beef with fries and a drink.They brought out an Italian beef topped with a layer of melted mozzarella cheese wrapped in lightly toasted garlic bread (the garlic bread was $1 extra) and the sandwich was complimented by an order of perfectly cooked crinkle cut fries with a side of cheese for dipping (the cheese was $ .50 extra).I took one bite and knew that I had made a great decision for lunch. It’s not better than Portillos per se, but they’re definitely on the same level so any Portillos fans out there reading this….I doubt you’ll be disappointed.I’m a fan and now going to be a regular customer.As far as everything else, the staff was friendly, the rest it was clean with plenty of seating and the food was hot and delicious. It’s worth a try.
If you’re from the northeast, this is not NY style pizza at all. The crust is way off. The white pizza has no sauce, no garlic, no flavor. It’s legit just crust and cheese. The wings are really good which is why I gave 2 stars. The toppings are good too. Fresh mushrooms and the sausage was very good. But if you’re looking for authentic NY style, this isn’t it. Not even close.
