What can I say, this place is fantastic! Authentic Italian food, wonderful seafood, and house made pasta. Grilled calamari, octopus, and shrimp appetizer was terrific. Also had the black linguini with clams & mussels with cherry tomatoes. Staff was very accommodating. Recommend you make reservations - but don't miss this wonderful restaurant!
First time there. Went at 5PM on a Friday night and we were the first in line. In the hour we were there, the place was only 1/4 full and one hears how this place is always packed. The food was a bit better than average although the vanilla cake desert was exceptional, it was $15. The galling part was that we needed a Covid card to get in, but the waitress who served us wasn't wearing a mask although every other waitress and the owner were. Big talk about this place, but no big deal.
I've been here before and the food is out of this world, however, this last experience was awful. We called ahead to make sure they were open ( had experience with them being closed) They were. We had a party of 7 and they had 2 open tables. Apparently, they weren't available but they don't take reservations. I know they have limited capacity but come on, really? I'll take my money elsewhere.
Very cozy (cramped seating). Food was excellent. Appetizer was a bit over priced but still delicious. Our entrees were perfect and the drinks were stiff. Our server was awesome and the meal was timed perfectly. We wished we had tried the dessert after we got home so we have a reason to go back. This place is perfect for a date night. I had a wonderful evening with my wife. Add this place to your list of places to try!
Seating is tight, it's like restaurants in NYC. So sure, it's a hole in the wall. Food is excellent! Veal meatballs, cream to.ato sauces, awesome seafood. From the photos on the walls, it looks like this place has been around for a while. I can see why. We definitely go here again.
I really wanted to like the food here, but it was just OK.The Ceasar salad had a vinaigrette style dressing rather than a traditional one.I ordered the Seafood Diavolo from the menu & it was a putanesca sauce with olives (I HATE olives). Pasta was cooked al dente. Really friendly staff & good service
Food was divine!!! Super intimate place to have dinner. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion. They are on the smaller side, but it’s part of what makes this place so special. Happy I found this gem❣️(also order the butter cake if they have it - you’re welcome)
Visiting from out of town, my friend and I decided to try Francesco’s since we were in Northbrook. It was a pleasant surprise. Delicious food. Great service. I had the bucatini with lobster and shrimp. Also, the tiramisu was a perfect end to the meal! Definitely would return…
The food is just great
Stopped in after 35 years and it was as good as I remember. They still put the daily menu up on the white board which is charming. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating to my desire for a vegetarian dish. I also really love the outdoor area they put in, it's really cute. It also really comes in handy for additional seating since the place is really small (hence the name). Will come again and won't wait 35 years this time.
