Really great atmosphere! Lot's of interesting things to look at. The food I ordered was way too greasy for me. On the menu it looked like a great sandwich. What I got was almost completely submerged in grease. Just picking it up, my bread was disolving in my hands. The bathroom was nice and clean though and my face and hands cleaned up fine. I'd definitely ask for a less greasy option next time. My wife went with a hot dog pictured here. She said it was good but the hot dog was actually cold. Not sure if it was supposed to be like that, but she ate it. The kids food was also pretty greasy and my daughter's sandwich bread was also disolving from so much grease. We all used a lot of napkins. ☺️If it's a greasy spoon old time restaurant you are looking for, this place is the best. ?
Ordered the 2 hot dog meal....the hot dogs were ice cold. It seemed like they forgot to cook them ?.I couldn't even put them into the microwave because it had condiments on both. I threw them away! Definitely wouldn't recommend this place especially for the "to-go" orders.
My first experience at a Portillo's. My husband said it's a good place to go.I dig the vibe and atmosphere there! I had the itialan sausage, with sweet peppers, fries and root beer. So good. Definitely a good fat food joint.
Quality control issues here. Burger came soaked in grease, container was soaked, and bun was slimy and sopping wet. 2 stars because we typically enjoy their food. I don’t know about this location.
The food is great, don't get me wrong. The squiggle fries are outstanding! I always order a Chicago style hot dog - amazing! But I do unfortunately have a grape. In the 20+ times I have been there, I have only received the right order three times. It is just me. No one else in my family has experienced this here. I think it is just Portillo's inside joke at this point. I would suggest eating inside to avoid getting your hot dog or fries forgotten.Normal Portillo's Hot Dogs: 4/5 Yeet Boxes

Went inside for order sign said 10-15 min wait. Was 45 min wait. In that time there were more customers who came in and those who were already waiting. One lady was there waiting for 40min. Crew gave her cold sausage. Gave her the warm one but did not add her mustard or onion. She waited and crew asked her 2 times within 10 mins again what went on her sausage. In this time the boy who took our order got off his shift and ordered food and walked out with his order while we were still waiting and the people before us were still waiting. Crew made sure his order was ready for him getting off his shift with fresh food but no one else. Girl who did salad was literally brain dead standing and starring poking around scraping salad off the counter into bowls and using them for orders. Lady who filled pickles took a pickle out and ate it with her bare hand in front of all customers. Finally got our order because we came up with ticket asking where it was. Didn’t have cake but charged us for cake when we ordered. Literally the worst service I’ve ever experienced. Staff crew members where lazy and not attentive. Fed the staff their food before taking care of waiting orders. Did orders wrong over and over with several customers drinks and food and order handled where crossed with great contamination. Really bummed about this.. won’t ever go again.
Terrible service. No one seemed to care. When food got home there was enough meat for 1 1/2 sandwiches we ordered 3. I get it prices are higher. But don’t sacrifice quality. Tell us you’re raising the price. Wife Emailed customer service and waited a week no response. Portillos is normally a great experience unfortunately not in Bloomington/normal any more. Sad.
Clean, friendly and covid compliant. The food was excellent.i absolutely love their green peppers. I'm just sorry they no longer carry their red sauce. I Really am hoping they bring that item back. So good.
Really good Italian Sandwich it’s a little soggy but it’s expected ?.Should be voted as a must visit for this area.
