Darn, this was my first visit back since Covid began, and I was disappointed. The new policy is 1-visit-only to the salad bar. My real issues probably trace back to staffing/training at this particular location. So many dirty tables, even though they weren't that busy, kind of set the tone from the start. Our chosen table had no dishes but required that we wipe off the seats of extensive/obvious food chunks. My bowl of veggie soup was not hot. One dressing had another accidentally dripped into it. Both muffin bins contained only a few broken leftovers (for our entire dinner visit). The bathroom needed a quick wipe-down visit. Summary: great concepts (recipes, ambiance, finishes, etc), poor execution.
HARD PASS. This was our first visit (and last) to Jason's Deli. We ordered 2 Rubens, 2 ice tea, & 2 Texas cake. For $45.00... expensive lesson learned!!!The meat on the Ruben was so dry & chewy, it was like eating beef jerky & the corners of the cheese were hard. The ruben is pictured on marle rye, that is NOT the bread you get. The tea was cloudy and bitter. At least the cake was ok. We couldn't even eat our sandwiches.I was going to talk with someone about it, but it was lunch time and they were slammed and looked short staffed, so we just left the food & left.
I like the food and salad bar, but it’s disappointing that they don’t serve the chocolate syrup with the ice cream. I have always liked putting the chocolate syrup on top of my vanilla ice cream, and I can’t do that here. Need to bring back the chocolate syrup. Update May 1st 2022: I originally gave this location 3 stars, but I’m pleased with the response I got to my review and am happy that the chocolate syrup will return! I will definitely visit here more often. Thank you for your dedication to high customer satisfaction!!!
We made the hour long trip to Bloomington-Normal specifically to eat at Jason’s Deli My wife got the California Club sandwich and I ordered the Reuben .. the first thing I noticed when they delivered the food to our table was the Reuben wasn’t on Marbled Rye bread like pictured in the Ads in the Store and online but the Bread was fine.. but the Corned beef was just some commercially sourced lunch meat that was obviously boiled away with little or no seasoning and the sauerkraut was at the same level , some packaged very mild and added nothing to the flavor of the corned beef.. I ate half of my sandwich because I was hungry.. My Wife’s club sandwich was equally unimpressive.. and she also only ate half of hers.. upon leaving we stopped at a Taco Bell and ordered a couple Tacos just to eat something with Flavor…. $24.90 for Jason’s Deli and wasn’t worth half of that.. we enjoy a Good Meal and I LOVE Reuben Sandwiches, definitely won’t be returning..
Didn't see it on the menu and was not told the salad bar was a one trip only. Expecting to get a second plate I didn't put a lot of food on my plate. Sadly I learned after I asked for a clean plate of the one trip option that is offered at a reduced price.Apparently deciding not to offer an option to make this unlimited has been taken away from the customer.A sad experience for a restaurant I enjoyed back at home I thought would be a quality visit while traveling.I talked to the manager who at first defined the change. I decided to talk to her again, I did not take an excessive amount of expecting to get a clean plate.Only after I learned it's also posted on the salad bar, on one side only, and not the side I visited, the signs only on one side.Still, at the time of purchase it would be nice to also be told of this change.I appreciate the additional plate, but would have liked a better warning outright.
This is my favorite restaurant in Bloomington-normal. The staff is so friendly and always makes the best food. The pollo Mexicano is my favorite dish, my fiancé always got the chicken panini. I would have this place for every meal if I could, and the best part is free ice cream! ??
Thoroughly enjoyed having lunch with my son to celebrate my birthday. I absolutely love the fire roasted tortilla soup. It's a toss up on what sandwich I like the best. The quality of the food is superb.
Always fast and efficient service, only things we get are the Carmela and the Reuben sandwiches with sweet teas. Carmela is usually okay, and sometimes she orders the Reuben with me. They're that good.
food was good just very overpriced and while looking we saw the ceilings were very dusty? not sure if thats supposed to look that way but i didnt think so with it hanging off of the cables and down the wall. we also spotted it peaking through the tiles above the kitchen.
We love coming to Jason's Deli. My wife works late so it is a nice place to eat late. The manager, Wesley, knows us and remembers our order. He also remembers if we miss a week when we do not come in. The menu has lots of variety and everything tastes great. The salad bar is big and nothing is taken away even when it is very close to closing time. This why we keep returning to Jason's Deli.
