We showed up with a party of 6 around 7:40pm and the restaurant closes at 9pm. We thought that a little under an hour & a half was more than enough time to eat & enjoy ourselves. We were very wrong. We sat down & immediately they started bombarding us. First they came over & asking us what we wanted to eat without even giving us menus yet. We were then asked again what we wanted to eat as we were being handed our menus with no clue what was in it. Once the food came out, we clearly weren’t cooking it to their accordance so our party was rudely intruded on. They inserted themselves & just started cooking all our food. They should have just sat down with us at that point. To make things worse, they were trying to serve us the “cooked” food that was barley done because they wanted to get on with our order. After asking them to cook the food longer they flipped it & gave it to us medium anyways. We left at 8:50 & the entire experience was rushed & honestly down right disrespectful. We paid almost $300 for the most awkward intrusive dinner of our lives, yet I would have paid more to have be left alone while we simply ate & enjoyed our company. Will never go back.
Horrible service. Do not go here if your appetite is affected by the service you get. As asians ourselves, we felt discriminated for some reason by the 3 older serving ladies. Korean and white people got the best service as we’ve noticed. Save your money and go to h mart for some equality. Stay away if you’re reading this, seriously. H Mart has much better food and better service.
Great food. Terrible service. The employee walked out after we left and asked for more tip? Excuse me? First of all, it’s optional. Secondly, she rushed EVERYTHING! We got there at 8 and the first thing we were told was that they close at 9 by the same lady. We left by 8:30 and she still was mad because we came late? HUH?
Good Kalbi but bit of underwhelming portion size.Ordered 50$ per person special (total of 200$ for 4 person) and of course tips is added by the restaurant at 20% automatically. What is included for 50$ per person?1x Makeral ( medium size)1x Korean Pancake, sea variety (HaeMulPaJun)1x Squid with vegatables (Ojing-u Bok-Kum).4x KalabiChoice of rice or cold noodle (Nhang-myun) but not both.Kalbi meat was good quality, but you get 1 rib per person. Not nearlyenough meat per person. I was surprised that if I get cold noodle I cannot get the rice. The rice was cooked and served in metal bowl. The although the taste of rice was good, the amount of rice was very disappointing; I took 4 large spoonful and finished the rice.. The cold noodle taste was average; however, the size was much larger than the rice portion. The Mackeral was cooked slightly underdone, but seemed to be ok in freshness. Now, my main complaints, the squid bok-um apparently played and succeed in playing hide and seek. I never found but few pieces hiding under the onion and cabbages. Same goes for the HaeMyl Pa-Jun, which was sorely lacking in sea life.Again, when we arived, waitress pushed hard for the 50$/person package as the most awsome choice that general public loves. I believe in retrospect, the 50$ probably is the most profitable for the restaurant. In conclusion, the food was in general better than average quality and taste for Chicagoland. Comparing the quality and quantity against LA restaurants, it is bit below average LA restaurants. For a Korean Restaurant in Chicagoland this is descent tasting restaurant. But, to be fair the recent supply chain issues may have contributed to the quality and quantity served.
It’s truly amazing and delicious and very affordable than most places
Love their rice that is cooked individually as soon as you order. Especially eating left over rice with water after meal is great. I always get the squid dish. Only complaint is ratio of legs to body of squid varies every time. Sometimes you only get legs, sometimes more body.
I should have read the reviews before walking in! The recent reviews were pretty bad and unfortunately was my experience too. Randomly stopped by this place, lunch for 4 people recently. The food was ridiculously overpriced for its quality. the korean side dishes were lack of variety. 20% gratuity were automatically added to the bill for a lunch with fewer side dishes and options :-( They even asked One Dollar for each box for leftover!!! This is the worst Korean restaurant I have ever been and will never go back. Dont waste your time and money on this place.
The food choices we made here were pretty tasty and I like their Korean bbqs . The place is pretty clean and the staff were nice and friendly . Would recommend.
Service is ok but but the food is over priced for the quality also luch and dinner prices are the same they give you less side dishes for lunch felt cheated while paying for the same price
Randomly stopped by this place, dinner for 6 people, in late October 2021. Waitress was rude and giving us attitude right from the start. We ordered bulgogi, short ribs, and pork belly. The meat was not salted, the korean side dishes were lacking in variety, and we over paid for the quality and quantity. Dont waste your time or money on this place.
