I live in S Carolina and on social media I found some posts of people from Chicago asking where to find Italian Roast Beef. Some responses said only in Chicago! Others said make your own and provided recipes. I had just been in Chicago and missed out so I told myself the next time in Chicago I would try it. I will say I did follow recipes and made it at home and it was a hit with my family. But last week a coworker and myself were able to try Al’s and what a treat it was. My sandwich was awesome, the Big Beef. Coworker had the same and we split a large order French Fries.
I love love love Al's beef! I dreamt about this all night so i drove the next morning from Huntley il to get a beef dipped well with peppers and American cheese! Service here is always super fast & the gentleman who took my order was so polite. The place is always clean! Al's beef never ever disappoints, ill be back next month ?
Al's beef use to have some good beef but this this it was dry and salty but the fries was good just as I expected. I'll give you all a 3 star
We stopped to grab a late lunch as when we googled best Italian Beef in Chicago, Al's was mentioned as the #1 place. The restaurant was slow for the afternoon, but the gentleman working the counter was fantastic and so helpful! When we got our sandwiches, they were a little dry and not overly spectacular. We'd come back since there's a variety of food from Italian Beef, Hamburgers, and Pizza- but might try others to get a good perspective of Chicago Italian Beef.
It was just ok. I was impressed with the size of the big beef. Most other restaurants have made there big beefs smaller to keep the prices down. They still have a good size sandwich but the price has gone up a bit.
ITS STILL Kinda frozen/Cold!!!! First time here bad experience!!! Never again.
Usually order from Grub hub but went in person a week ago. Italian Beef extra hot and fries. Food is always hot, beef is cut nicely no fat and the hot peppers in a unique blend famous by Al's. No complains so far.
Awesome! The Italian beef is amazing! Had cheese fries that were piping hot. Clean and roomy; super friendly staff.
I purchased a bell pepper sandwich and a slice of pizza from my brother they always have great service fast service food when I used to eat everything that they offered
I usually like to grab a beef Italian for my dad whenever I go out to Chicago. Wish I would've got extra sweet peppers though.
